As we prepare to sign our purchase agreement today for a new 36RL, I'm now concerned that we will have the same issues we just finished dealing with at Forest River. They just corrected the oxidation issues even after the one year warranty expired. We were first introduced to Redwood last year at Rocky Mountain National Park..the guy loved their rig but hated the oxidation after only 16 months. There is a mandatory $10k for paint... so my question to you, how's is this possible?? Please respond as we are a pending customer, please don't have our first customer service experience leave a bitter taste...

The oxidation and fading was on the non painted units. I have not heard of a problem with the full body paint

Redwood discontinued the non-painted coach about a year or so ago. I think it was probably two-fold, with a gel coat finish it is not a question of if it will fade, but when. Also, the graphics on the non painted units are vinyl. Nothing against vinyl graphics , that's my business, but the life span on them is about 7 years or so.

The full body paint is one of the things that sets a Redwood apart. Typically until they started, the only Fivers you saw painted were the Horizons and Continental Coaches that were custom units.

Yep, the non painted Redwood was discontinued about the time the non full body painted Cypress and Sequoia were released.

That gave some difference / seperation in the levels of the three models.

Not to offend anyone who may own a Cypress or Sequoia, but all you have to do is step into either and you know it's not a Redwood.

Thank you

Your Redwood is covered for that problem. Just call your dealer and they will have it painted. If they don't know about the problem, call customer service at Redwood and they will look after you. Don't forget the pictures. Nothing happens unless you have pictures. Good luck and safe travels
