31SL Sofa Air Mattress
The 31SL is suppose to sleep four. When we got our unit the dealer said it is to come with an air mattress that fits over the sofa (68 inches total width, 50 inches inside the arms. Our sofa which comes with storage drawer did not have the mattress. The dealer finally got us the mattress, but it turned out to be for an 80 inch sofa (inside arms 65 inches).
The dealer and manufacturer are communicating, but have not responded with a any solution. Apparently neither the manufacturer or dealer have blown up the air mattress in a 31SL. Has anyone else had this problem or gotten the correct mattress? It appears to me we need have supplied to us a 68 inch sleeper sofa in order to sleep 4.

Welcome crusepro !
There were two different sofas when we ordered...
one with the drawer under for the two extra dining chairs (and where we keep the vacuum cleaner 'stuff'
and one the sleeper...
if the first - no sleeping accessories, if the second, no comfortable seating

We had the regular sofa in ours but needed the sleeper. Dealer charged us $1800 for the swap and it took a month to get it. It's a regular queen sleeper sofa with a mattress that is certainly nothing special....

Our 31SL came with the sofa and a pull out hide-a-bed (The mattress is not a blow up) We really wanted the one with the drawer for storage and we just carry our own blow up mattress for the living room floor for the very few times we might need and extra bed. I would trade you in a heartbeat if your color matched ours

Our 2012 31sl came with the standard 68 inch sofa and a blow up mattress that sat over the sofa seat. We used it a couple of times but found it kept sliding off the sofa and did not work that well. I decided to but it in storage and not travel with it due to bulkiness and the fact that it did not work well. We carry a small regular blow up mattress.

We were told as well that our trailer had a blow up mattress but the day we did our walk thru it was one of Many that was missing. We just watched salesman and techs going trailer to trailer to try and snatch one from another Kind of makes you feel like you really get a real redwood product watching that go on. We refused to take delivery till all our items are fixed till then

If you are looking for an additional bed, check out the air mattress from Frontgate. Folds up into a suitcase size when not in use, press a button and it unfolds.

It is clear Redwood and dealers do not know what they are providing for different units, they have not or do not blow up the air mattresses to see how they work.ur dealer is discussing with Redwood options for the wrong air mattress they provided us. Those that got sofa beds are not happy. I will let you know what the solution is for us. We have background in good design so we will not let the solution be a compromise !

31SL Sofa Air Mattress
Discussed options with dealer today, they suggested under inflation, but that did not work.
What appears to work is removing the sofa cushions putting the portion that is supposed to go over the cushions up in the slot and inflate.
The lower section of the mattress inflates to the height of the cushionless sofa and the upper portion inflates (not totally) in the slot. Seems to be comfortable and does not come out.

Yes you do have to remove the sofa cushions to properly use the 68" blow up mattress. Even after doing that we found the mattress would work its way off the sofa by morning. You could probably get some industrial strength velcro to hold in place if need be. The sofa bed units do not sit comfortable for my wife and I. You tend to bottom out on the springs real easy.
