Just as I brag on the Bauer, it starts not working right. It seems like the deadbolt is sticking though, not a pad issue. Might take it apart sometime, and look at it, but for now the key works fine. I wish these RVs would just quit with the frilly things that don't work right, and go back to a standard handle, and a key.

I think that is what it's doing.

Todd just moved the plate and it was resolved, thank God. Yes, it's great when it works... a real bummer when it doesn't. I am glad I read on this forum to keep a spare set of keys OUTSIDE the RW!! We would have been locked out!!

Yes, we ordered a couple of spare keys from Bauer ourselves !

keep one on each set of keys and one for each of our pockets and one outside

on edit too: I think one contributing problem was that 'someone' on the line did not use the correct screws on the door plate that let it slide back and forth...

When they sent me 2 new locks I had them both keyed alike. That gave me 4 keys, now I spread them everywhere!

Also, I ended up replacing both striker plates with the new ones as the original striker plates kept getting hung up on the doors. Well the new ones did as well. After close inspection the striker plates are slightly different between the new and old designs. I ended up taking a rubber mallet and "flatenning" out the new ones a bit. Since then the door doesn't tend to stick anymore.

Just a thought for those that have replaced the locks.
