5 Year Structural Warranty

We rolled out of our 2 year warranty, and of those that still have the 2+5, I think even the earliest Redood is still in the 5 year warranty.

Has anyone had warranty work done under the 5 year umbrella after the 2 year lapsed?

I don't think anyone can figure out what the 5 year warranty covers. I reread it yesterday and it confused me more than the last time I read it. It's so non specific that it sounds like more of a marketing tool than a warranty with definition.

I have asked management on 2 occasions to explain exactly what is covered under the 5 yr structural warranty and have never gotten a firm answer. It seems that every Customer Service Tech has a different understanding of what is covered. I asked if a crack in the sidewall under the bedroom slide would be covered if it occurred during the3-5 yr period and I was told no but that it could be considered under a case by case basis. I have had the front cap painted prior tothe2 yr warranty expiring but unsure if Redwood will cover painting the rear cap if fading occurs during the 3-5 yr period. It is under a cover80% of thetime so I have not seen fading on the rear yet but if I go full time in the near future I'm sure it will show up. It would definitely give owners peace of mind to know for sure what is covered and not covered. We shouldn't have to have every claim considered on a case by case basis.

Oh wow, I thought for sure the crack would be covered as part of the 5 year. Not sure what case by case would mean, if its cracked its cracked.

It almost makes me think that you need to squeal to get warranty approved. That way, those that don't feel like making a big deal out of something will just go ahead andpay for it on their own. Knowing that Redwood was a relatively new company was concerning to me but the 5 year structural warranty I thought would give me some peace of mind but now I'm not sure what is covered.

They cover the whole thing on a case by case basis

Cae by case means it's covered if you call the general manager!

The way I understand it, not much past the aluminum shell under the skin is covered.

Our 2 years were up in April. I told DW I was glad. No more arguing over who's paying for repairs.

This should be one of the main questions brought up to the RW employees at the rally or at the factory itself. Since the 5 year is very unclear and does not clarify what it covers or at least to my simple mind. Maybe put the pressure on since it should not be a case by case consideration but explained in writing. When I asked my salesman at the time of purchase he said basically front to back for 2 years and 5 on the structure but at that time I was not educated on the RW's as I am now.

I basically heard the same thing, "5 years on the structure". The problem apparently seems to be that no one can explain what "structure" means. I too think there could be some clarification.

I just looked at the Good Sam extended plan, figured would cover my butt for what Redwood doesn't cover (about all of it), but it requires me to follow the manufactures recommendations for service. I don't really gain anything, as I would still need to pack bearings every 6 months and all the rest the hoopla

I think the plans like GS are more about awnings, appliances, the level up and stuff. The mechanical things will be more subjective.

on the redwood we had an extended warranty that ended up covering nothing and we got about 2/3's of our money back...

on the 'new to us' mh, decided to get the Good Sam warranty for just over a $100 per mth.. piece of mind until we learn this thing

What plan did you have on the Redwood? Hopefully not that thing Explore USA was selling!

I do not believe so. You would have to cut a hole in the roof where it ties into the ductwork and try and fish the wiring between the air units and also to the thermostat. I could be wrong about the prep for a third one. Redwood would be able to help with that
