Just took delivery of our new 2012 Redwood 36RE. Absolutely love it... except...... discovered that the 60" banquet Table with the swivel top and two leafs does not exist in our unit. During the exploration process of looking at the Redwoods, the salesman showed us how the tabel slid side to side to accommodate people of different sizes. In the Redwood Brochure we saw how the table would swivel to make into a Buffett table. I really liked that feature. However, our unit does not have this table. The brochure says this is a standard, not an option. Not sure what happened.

Does anyone else have the 60" Banquet table? What happened to this feature? I really wanted the swivel table and expected it was included in our unit.

Hello droberts91,

We went to the factory yesterday for a tour and we were told that the 2012 models would have the 60" Banquet Table w/swivel top, however we went right to a dealer from the plant and looked at a 2012 model on the lot and it did not have the swivel.

At first I wondered if the coach on the lot was a 2012 because it didn't have the extra pull out in the island that the 2012 units have now either but who knows.

Did you talk to your dealer about this?

Droberts

I was told by the factory rep, that the top would push from side to side to allow a person to sit down easier. Is this what you're talking about?

It's funny how we notice things like changes to the table, but no one has commented about the elephant in the room yet... Has anyone noticed the rest of the departures from what you ordered??

Changes like the 12 cuft. refridgerator going from Dometic to Norcold, or bothtelevisions going from Toshiba to Magnavox, or the roof fans going from Fantastic Fan to Maxx? Frigidaire Microwaves??? Does anyone see a pattern here?

I don't know I haven't got mine yet! Has any of you with the new trailers seen any of this?

We ordered the convection/microwave and received a Whirlpool Gold brand. Not a bad upgrade.

I was told by Redwood that they changed from a standard fixed table to the swivel table shortly into the 2012 production year.As it turns out, our unit was built prior to the switch. I will have to getwith the Dealer to see what can be done. I would like to see them just switch out the table. Don't know if that willhappen. (I should find out later today).

The Service and Finance department at the dealer were great (expecially service). However, the Salesman we had left MUCH to be desired. After the sale, he just disappeared. Reluctant to return calls, emails, etc. Only saw him once during unit pick up and that was when we sought him out to get the keys to the unit.

As for the tv's that someone else mentioned, our unit does have the Toshiba tvs. Also, we have the fantastic fans. I will have to check on the fridge and microwave when I get home.

We have always used our table for extra counter space. I'm sure this will change with new unit.

My table moves side to side, but does not swivel. I looked underneath the table a few weeks ago to see if I was not releasing something, but found there is no way the table would swivel. My fridge is Norcold. The big tv is Toshiba and the bedroom one is Magnavox. The Magnavox tv seems to work fine, but I was unaware they were still being manufactured.

We took delivery of our 36RL September 12, 2011. It has the permanently mounted table that expands onone end which is fine for the two of us. I also don't have to be concerned about it moving around while traveling.

Our TVs are both Toshiba and so far I think they are great..........the bestoff-air channel tuners I have seen in recent years. I think the Magnavox TVs are Magnavox in name only. I think the name was sold to an off shore manufacturer several years ago. I suspect RV manufacturers in trying to maintain production schedules will use the best components that help them meet those schedules. It seems with Redwood they are becoming more flexible to some degree, but, if you want a specific item/option that is not readily available, your delivery lead tine may increase significantly for them to meet that request.

I don't think there's a big difference between the TV's, I think most are all made by Thompson electric anymore, but have different names. They're all "throw away" anymore. Use them until they break and then just throw it away and buy a new one.

I don't think we'll ever use the one in the bedroom anyway. There's only 2 things I do in the bedroom and neither one of them involve the TV (too distracting).

Here is a reply from Redwood when Iinquiredabout the changes:

We no longer use Dometic because of service issues. We were having a lot of
problems with the units. Toshiba we were having supply issues. They weren’t
able to keep up with our stock demands. We switched to the Maxx fan because
it’s a better fan with more user friendly components. The microwave change was
due to a supply issue. We switched to the Whirlpool brand , it cost us more,
but we didn’t pass on the cost to the dealer/customer. I hope this answers your
questions. I’ll send you pictures of the new banquet table too.

I hope this helps in some of theexplanationson why changes occurred

We bought our 2012 36RL in Nov. 2011 and it does not have a swivel table either. We were intrigued when we first saw the table last year, but was very disappointed when it did not move. Found out that Redwood didn't like the way the table was made and called it junk!! Said they were in the process of creating another table and it looks like they have. Now the question is: How can we get one?????
Our rv has the 2 Toshiba TV's, Frigidaire micro and Dometic fridge. We're not very happy with the fridge and don't like the way the doors close. It just feels like the don't shut very well. Anyone else notice this?

We have a 2012 36 FB. We purchased it in April 2011. Ours has the Dometic fridge. It has 2 outside cooling fans. They cycle on and off. When they come on they are really loud. Has anyone else had trouble with the fans when they come on? We are taking ours in for the 1 year service in April. Hopefully they can quieten them down when they come on.
