We just left Lazydays this morning after having our pantry door replaced. The guy from the cabinetry shop who worked on it also installed a catch (like those on the drawers)between the bottom back of eadh pantry drawer and the back of the pantry. WHy can't RW think of these things? He knew just what to do as soon as he heard what was happening.

We are having problems with the plastic latches on the waste basket drawer, desk, closet doors, and dish drawers. It seems that after a few uses the plastic piece on the female side does not come out . When you try to close the drawer it stops short by about 1/4 inch. The male plastic piece hits the piece that should move forward when the drawer is pulled. We have six or seven of these latches and I am going to have Lazy Days replace them all with ones that work.

We had the same problem. We got our replacements from Brian at RW. The latch reciever is not designed strong enough and breaks very easily.

Jay,

I am glad to hear that other folks have had problems with these latches. I am going to make an appointment with Lazy Days to replace all of them in my coach. What did RW give you as a replacement?

The alignment of those things is critical. If not aligned exactly right that's what happens. We had several broken when we picked up the unit and the Lazy Days Tech gave me a few extras. Haven't needed any since, but something would be nice.

Ever had a car door that you closed thelatch in the door lock by mistake and have to pry thethe striker back against the spring tension to be able to close the door again? Seems likea similar thing ishappeningto the drawer latches.

Last night, I was doing something in a drawer and heard this click... sure enough the latch popped closed just like wasmentioned above. I took a screwdriver and pried the latch striker backto the open position and the latch worked well again (at least through 4 or 5 tries).

If you haven't slammed the drawer yet in frustration, some of the latches might be working if they haven't been damaged. Try this :-).Edited by: 5th_Time

Jlandon. They replaced them with the same latches, only now I shut the doors and draws with tlc. I did however switch out the bedroom closet door latch with a snap clip I bought at the hardware store. Good luck on your fixes.

Yup I have an order in to get my closet door latch replaced, same thing as the car door lock and won't open without a screwdriver prying on it. very disappointing when these are residential units. cheap Chinese crap they are using!

Unfortunately, the plastic will wear out even if you are careful opening and closing the latch. If there's a metal version or another latch that will last longer it would be great. I too replaced the closet latch with a magnetic one. It works great while parked. The latch at the bottom of the doors keeps them from moving around while in transit.Edited by: Grandpa

Hi All,

You may want to check out a great little Canadian company called Lee Valley Tools. Website is http://www.leevalley.com
Select United States... then Hardware tab and go looking for quality replacements for your hinges and latches.
As you will see from the site, they also have rally cool gardening and woodworking goodies as well. This is not Chinese crap... most of this stuff in Cdn or USA made.
