8 ton Axles with disc brakes

I just called Crossroads Redwood service to set up getting 8K axles, they told me that it was Lippert, not them. I thought I read somewhere in the forum that Redwood did this work. Please advise and if it is Lippert does anyone have their contact person?

Thought you bought a DRV Buddy?

You would be steps ahead to just have Mor-Ryde do it next door. IS system and disk brakes ~$5K?

X2 the Mor/ryde IS and Disc Brakes. Money well spent and eliminate all those wet bolts, shackles, and springs.

X3 on MORRyde IS and discs.... We just traveled from MA to PA down 95 through CT and NY, including the GW Bridge... The inside is just the way we left it .. No way springs would have done that.

We were going DRV, but I would loose the net storage in the garage and the storage in the closet. We looked at the 38 GK as well but like to set side by side looking out the window when we eat. We like the rotating dining room table on our 2013 36FB.

Buddy
I would go with the 4 ton axles instead as the 8 ton may make the trailer ride a little rough

I think Buddy means 8K axles not 8 ton.
Rally special on 8K IS and Kodiak Disc is $5900
Contact would be Gary Wheeler or Ron Kolean-
use the main Mor/ryde number 1-574-293-1581 and ask for either

IS

Heading over to Morryde after the rally for new 8K IS using my existing discs. They are letting us camp in their lot (with 50 amp and water, not sure about sewer) for 2 nights but they want us out of the RW during the install. Makes sense. I'm hoping the IS will extend the life of the 38RL. We love the floorpan and can't find anything else we like better!

We just did that... I believe that the electric is 30amp ?? ours was inside the whole time , plugged into 30amp outlets ....the water is a spigot on the wall that you can fill up your holding tanks with... NO sewer.. When I left , I called Tiara RV up the street and they allowed me to use their dump so I did not carry it all with me..

Thanks for the info. I can dump the tanks at Shipsawana South on Sunday. I guess we can survive the 2 nights with one A/C on. I don't think 30 amp will run them both.

30AMP will not run both... you will need to have ALL slides in by 6am.. that's their start time.. and no access till after 4pm... BUT they allowed the ac to stay on while gone , so at least the camper stayed cool inside...

Be prepared for noise... They are working 24 hours a day... the break table is 5' from the front of the trailer..
There are break buzzers that are located over the camper that will sound off at break times.. There are loudspeakers strategically placed around so they can use the page system to tell people stuff... this all happens through the night...
We said that the next time we need to go there , we will drop the trailer off and hit the Marriott...
They are very gracious to allow us to stay , they even bring lunch in for you , their treat if you are in the lobby waiting.. They will give you a key to their warehouse so you can come and go.. BUT the doors were always open as they did not stop working...
At the end of it all.... IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OT THAT FOR THE IS ! ! !

Morryde sleepover

Thanks for the info. It should be a couple of wild nights. Our two papillons will have a good time alerting us to every disturbance outside!
I'll hope for cool nights!

The outside hookup is 50 amp. Suggest you fill your water tank before going to MorRyde. You can do it off the spigot on the wall but not very convenient and you will probably wind up jockeying the rig around the parking lot.
Shouldn't be any issue keeping it cool with one AC once it's inside.

As Joe said, the end result is more than worth it !!

Did we mention the freight trains that come at all hours right next to the plant ? And blow horns for each crossing ? Lol. Bring ear plugs.

Since I am now traveling solo with my dog Bale, the couple of days at MorRyde will be a challenge.
I think I have found a solution, last week when I had to fly to Florida for work, I found a website that hooks you up with a in home host for dogs, found one here in NJ close to where I am staying.
It worked out great, great family host, reasonable cost, Bale had a great time.

Based on my experience here I decided to look in the Elkhart area for a host to keep Bale in their home for a couple of days while I am at MorRyde, found a great family and made the reservation.
I will arrive at MorRyde Wednesday afternoon 7/27, take Bale to his host's for Wednesday and Thursday night, then pick him up Friday sometime mid day after MorRyde is done and then I will move to the Shipshewana CG.

Rob ~ that will work great. Lots to do while you're waiting in the Elkhart area. Bunch of different museums aren't too far away. The RV museum is worth seeing and the Studebaker museum and Estate are worth the trip.

Down the street from MorRyde is a place called Grandmas that is really good for breakfast and "diner style" food.

Look forward to seeing you again at the Rally.

Take an appetite with you to Grandmoms.. The for was excellent, and I left a bunch on my plate.. It was a ton of food , my wife and kids ordered 2 eggs, they each got 4. . .

Spend some time walking around Notre Dame with Bale, it's beautiful !!
