Another loose bolt to check

Yesterday we moved the camper 100 miles while checking in I noticed this bolt was almost completely out. I tighten it easily by hand until we got to the campsite. After we unhooked that bolt is under pressure I guess from the airbag it was difficult to tighten with a wrench. Hooked up again and tightened it easily with a wrench. I found it scary as it looks like only those two bolts holds on the entire pin.

Yep, you are right, only two bolts hold the pin in place.

I had to remove my pin to remove the lower jaw when the Glide portion of my hitch broke.

Remove the Bolts, then slide the pin out, the lower jaw comes off.

When you mentioned your glide portion broke, what actually broke and how did you fix it? any photos of what broke? I am curious as what to keep an eye out for, thanks

Below is a PDF showing the repairs, I do not have pictures of the failed glide plate.
When the two rear Glide Plate shafts broke, the Glide Plate would drop down about 3 inches at the rear of the Plate / Pin Box.
So when starting and stopping is was banging back and forth pretty hard.

Rob,
My trailer makes the same sounds when stopping and starting... scares the Hell out of us!
I have not noticed any damage but I can push the plate front to back by hand when the unit is unhooked.
I am working right now and heading home this weekend to get the RW and TV ready to go to the Rally.
I will check out my Air Ryde Pin Box and hope we are good enough to get to the Rally for a good look by a tech.

DW and Fergus the Scotty are looking forward to actually attending this year! Had detached retina the day we were supposed to leave last year.

That slamming seems to be normal, and to think we paid extra for it. I'll have mine changes out this winter it drives me crazy.

Make sure you grease all nine (9) fitting on the hitch. Three if these are inside the hitch. This should be done every 1-2 thousand miles.

Also adjust the pin and hitch so that the trailer rides level.

I think that's going to be one of those "Local Pick-up Only" sales. I remember what mine weighed and it wasn't all that fun getting it into position.

Well, I do travel for work... Depending on who wants it , I could ship it from one of our other branches to help save freight a bit...

But you are correct, it will probably cost $100.00 or so to ship the 250# pin box..

Brad - or anyone else that needs/wants one, I will have my Tri Glide at the Rally. I'm changing to a MorRyde Pinbox and a Comfortride Hitch.
Nothing wrong with my Tri Glide that I know of and even usually quiet if greased regularly.

The airbag Pinbox does not play well with the cushioned hitch, which is why I'm switching. I will be VERY friendly on cost ......
