Brad - that one's easy for me as prior to arriving in Canada a television was always called the "Telly"

Naw - the telephone was one of the really strange slang terms - we used to call the telephone the "Blower" . No idea where it originated.

You Canucks have a whole different vocabulary.....
This past winter I was next to a couple from Ontario, there were several times he would say something...give me a look and chuckle... you yanks call it ... one of my favorites was hydro...electricity, Eh!!

Affirmative we used it on British ships. It is slang for telephone.
