OK, have most of my "stuff" in the basement in tubs with lids, but I'm thinking that some of you smarter than me have come up with some really innovative shelving / racking / storage ideas.
Anyone care to share how they maximized the space in the basement and also was able to find it after they stored it ??
Pictures and ideas would be great !

we use a couple of the single large Steralite stacking drawers: 1 for all things electrical, another for all things freshwater, etc... and the tall but narrow 3 drawer unit for small stuff. clearing out the basement is quick and easy</span>

I use clear drawers for storage. Easy to see what is in them and easy to remove for cleaning and sorting.

I use clear tubs bought at Wal Mart 51 qt. I also had the sliding tray installed at the dealer. Best 600 I ever spent. It slides out from either side and now when I want something (it's always in the middle) I flip my little latch and pull the tray out and get it. . The tubs I use can be double stacked and a smaller clear one set on top. Put two more tubs between the tray and the wall and 6 lawn chairs three small tables and a step ladder and I'm loaded. Much more room than my old Open Range. you can get 8 large tubs and four small tubs on the tray.

One thing that really helped me (but I still have more to do), was the power cord reel that I bought and installed. I carry a 50 ft power cord, which was really difficult at times to keep coiled up. With the reel, it's a 2 minute job to put that away and keep it in one location.

Piperguy - my RW is in for warranty work so I can not take pictures. I decided to make full use of my basement storage by installing 3 removable metal closet rods spanning front to back across the entire width of the basement. This provides storage for long items such as my truck bed cover, RV ladder, and some of the wife's painting easels. I also bought a full size metal car carrier (wire basket) and hung it from two of the closet rods with chain and S hooks, so the height of the basket can be adjusted. The basket hangs in the widest part of the basement and fits nice. I still have space underneath the hanging basket to stack two full size plastic bins. If I need to get access to space behind the side walls I can easily take down the closet rods and hanging basket. Beyond that I use plastic storage bins and plan to use a plastic stackable drawers.

I've got company coming so I can't get the picture and download it today but tomorrow I will. I got the manual "power cord" reel made by Moyride and it's mounted on the street side of my basement by the utility bad. It holds the 50 ft power line without any problems even when I used the rig in the winter and the cord is stiff. It only takes 4 screws to mount it. The only down side is I have to unwind all of the power cord but it's very easy to use.

The sliding tray in my 36RL is was not a factory option. It was a dealer add on. Tried to get it from the factory.

That's good to know. I have my dealer checking with the factory to see if they can do it since we just placed the order last Sunday. If not, they are ExploreUSA too, so we can get it done there.
Thanks!!

We also, use clear plastic tubs. A colored tub for the sewer hose and fittings. This past winter my wife and I stayed at a camping resort called Chassa Oaks in Florida. We met another couple there that had a Big Horn. They had a rear living set up. The unit had a factory installed power reel for their power cord. It was located on the drivers side rear with its own lockable door.
Kinda surprised that Redwood hasn't incorporated this into at least one of their units to date.

This looks like a standard option on the Big Horns I asked to have one installed on our rig but redwood said they can not do. Its an option I wish they had!!!
