Unhappy Bauer keyless

SO im in this issue solving ...
i have 2013 FL with Bauer key less one of the lock quit working
Bauer was a very helpful and did trouble shooting over the phone and sent me a replacement.
now im traveling the road and the wife called me the other morning saying she couldn't exit the RW. so my first thing was use the other door that we had shut and winterized.
then i had her try few things try to unlock with key didn't work
spray some antifreeze in the latch didn't work
last option was take 3 screws of the inside off and look in there but i cant find a manual way to retract the lock pin... latch works fine but looks like lock pin might be stock or broken in there.. any one with ideas?

Talking bauer

so i didn't get answers from the forum but we solved the problem , called Bauer asked for permission to void warranty and started taking all the mechanism apart till door opened again.

hope this doesn't happen again.

Sorry no one was able to answer you on the forum. It is not often that someone doesn't have something to say. I guess the good news is no one have had a problem with them.

Don't want to sound like a pessimist, but these Bauer touch pad locks are a royal pita in my opinion. Thinking of changing it out with a good ole standard door lock like I've had in the past with ZERO problems.

RVLocks seem to be pretty good over all. Mine came with my 36RL my only complaint is the batteries in the door handle. Everything seem to be backed up with a key on the outside and a manual knob painted red for the dead bolt.

Agree with the RV Lock. Tom ~ if yours are original, they have a new one that is updated and uses regular AA batteries. Comes with a remote and the keypad is in the lock handle. Fits the same footprint as the original and works like a champ.

Very reasonable cost to upgrade if you call them and the batteries last about a year. It will make a different beep series when you open it as the batteries start to get to needing replacing.

Very happy with it.

for those having problems with the Bauer - If those batteries jump a little when you slam the door and they lose contact, it resets to the default code. That caught me a few times. Just have to reset it, and make sure the springs are tight in the battery compartment.

They sent me a new all metal version - has worked great for us, except Dory doesn't have the strength to open the latch. I'm going to need to add an extension to it for her.

I have been looking for a good quality lithium AA batteries for a while. Although I can not tell a lie I have been eyeing those new locks. There is just some thing about locking and unlocking the unit with a fob.

Which 15 amp breaker? The one in the unit? Are you plugged into 220v

Well on the paper says 20amp bath but on the breaker box itself I only see a 15amp and yes I'm plugged in to the 50amp service and the fuse box should be 90amp converter if I don't mistake

Very happy with it.
We also replaced our door latch with this lock and are very happy with it. The original bolt and latch was difficult to open but this replacement works perfectly. Took about 45 minutes to remove the OEM door latch/lock and replace with this. Has both keypad and remote key fob.

Ver3 is what came on our Redwood, changed the batteries once just to have fresh ones, no complaints

My other fiver had an RV Lock on it and it never worked properly.. They even sent a replacement lock at no charge , it worked for about 2 weeks.. I just used the keys from that point on..
The Bauer lock on my RW is far and above the RV Lock.. IN MY OWN OPINION!

I have been a part of this forum for over 4 years and have read about all the problems with the different lock suppliers. My 2012 36RL came with a Southco lock which is powered by the coach's 12 VDC system through two contacts on the door jamb. We have 2 key fobs with a door key on each. In over 4 years, we have never had a problem with the locks or fobs...........I guess we have just been very lucky! Really glad we have what we have.

Sounds like a 50-50 satisfaction rate with any of the three locks used by Redwood.

I would like to say our last SOB just used a key and it was perfect, but in fact there were many complaints- locks failed closed, people crawling out windows or breaking in to get access to the screws. Can't win.

Since our last Bauer Lock Replacements they have worked perfect.
The only problem is the battery life, we usually get about 8 months use before we have to change batteries in the lock.
It only takes a few minutes and resetting the code after the battery change is quick and easy.

I have the same lock, the cool thing is that it came with a default code so don't need to bother setting it up after changing the batteries.
