Bauer keyless lock

I have a recent model Bauer keyless lock and use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries which the manufacturer recommends to last a year. I cannot get them to go beyond 2 months. Anybody have remedy for this.

I would call Bauer Lock as I have the same unit and the batteries in mine last for at least six months and I'm living in my unit 7 Months out of the year. There must be something draining your batteries or maybe some binding in the mechanism.

I know this doesn’t answer your question but I got so fustrated with the Bauer button system that I just lock/unlock it the old fashioned key way.

I normally change ours out one a year. We have had no issues since we bought it new. I do have a extra door lock when RW replaced our door because of hinges.

Wow, thats odd, we fulltime in our Redwood and love the Bauer Locks.
Bauer sent me replacements a couple of times due to issues with the original locks but the replacements have updates and improvements that make them much better than the original locks and have been trouble free. (Installed the last replacements a few years ago, the keypads and lock assembles work much better than the originals)
Also our 2014 38FL has two entry doors that did not have the same key at delivery, the replacements are keyed alike.
We change our batteries about once a year and use Duracell Batteries.

Yep, I noticed the new Redwoods do not have any kind of a keyless entry anymore.

After 2 sets of door latches, 3 or 4 keypads & a set of key fobs from RvLock it was less hassle & headache to use the the keys.

I still think the original Soutco locks were the most reliable and least trouble. They were powered off the coach's 12 VDC system through 2 small spring loaded contacts in the door frame and came with 2 key fobs. Last summer I had to clean the contacts for the first time and change the batteries in the key fobs for the first time after 7 years.

I agree Guy! But they must've cost 15 cents more.

Sounds like a defective lock. I was at the Rally last year, told the Rep. about it and he replaced the lock; free of any charge.

I'm not getting this website usage, but my reply is to the Bauer Lock question:
It sounds like your lock is defective. I had one, attended the Redwood Rally in 2018, told the Bauer Rep. about it and he replaced the lock with a brand new one; at no charge to us. Energizers are the right battery. Thank you Bauer Locks.

Sounds like the lock is not going to "sleep" and is always awake.......that would drain the battery ...do the keypad lights stay on....? we get a year out of ours....and I am not that fussy about battery brands...Wes

Lock

We learnt the hard way always keep a key hidden outside. The lock Smith was 325$. I now change the batteries every 3 months.

We had our lock replaced at the redwood rally and the tech recommended Energizer batteries. Their door unit was having issues when Duracell’s were used.

I can not get my head to understand how that could make a difference

Bauer Locks

Purchased new 2017 and Bauer Lock has never worked after two trips to Camping World for repair.

Glen - Bauer

Glen,

Contact Bauer in Elkhart. Also www.bauerproducts.com.

I feel strong enough to say if you have an issue Bauer will take care of you. Camping world on the other hand, you're just beating a dead horse.
