Best Bike Rack

Hello Everyone, looking for a bike rack (2) bikes, can I get some feedback to make best purchase, in past I have read some horror stories of problems with them?

It appears that the Swagman XTC2 has been tested for RV use. Kind of pricey but looks well built. I just purchased one at a garage sale for $25.00 and am anxious to try it on the Redwood but It looks like it will be next summer before I get to try it out. I knoe Camping world sells them and also Amazon.

I "illegally" use my Yakima Holdup on the Redwood. i say illegal because it says not for RVs, but It does a fantastic job. It's the one with the full 2" connect instead of a reducer.

What I love the most is it has built in locks and its so easy to mount the bikes I use it as a bike rack when not riding - no cable and locks to the picnic table anymore. Folds up when not in use.

Going on three years full timing with Swagman 2-bike rack...approx 30k miles travel with no issues.

I have a loud hitch clamp for my Swag man
It screams every time we hit a bump

I'm curious about accessing your rear storage compartment with the Swagman. I know the vertical arm folds down, but enough to get to the storage?

I cannot get to my rear compartment with the rack on. BUT I only keep sandy and dirt stuff in there , so I do not have to access it before the bikes are down , and rack pin removed.

Just have to plan ahead and don't put anything in there you might need on the road.

Bike Rack

We purchased this back in February and it has made a trip across country and back. It still allows you access to the back storage compartment with bikes on the rack.

Hope you enjoy it like I do mine. It is a slick rack! The only complication is it does block my personalized plates
