biased against Redwood

I don't know about all of you but when I'm on other forumsit seems likeseverial people seem biased against Redwood. I guess people like following the leader and aren't good at breaking outside of the norm. They're obviously sold on their own unit or else they wouldn't have spent the money.

#1 I've read post saying that the warranty doesn't cover full time use.

#2 The frames are junk, yet most frames are made by the same company

and countless others

I for one have been looking at 5ers for the last couple of years. I've looked in detail at Carriage, Hitch Hiker, Heartland, Peterson, DVRand New Horizon. They're all great units! But Redwood 5ersfit my needs the best. Weight has a lot to do with it because I didn't want to buy a dually. But regardless, I'm not going to bash another manufacturer to somehow justify my purchase.

In my opinion RV's are like women....they're all beautiful in their own way

Well said! RV's are like cars most people get a good rig and they are sold on for one or two rigs until find that there brand of rig can no longer fit there needs or wants then they tend to move to another manufacture and are loyal to that brand for a while. Lets face it they all have Redwood envy we have more for less . Its kind of like Montana the way they used to be, I can say that I have one I've had Hitchiker they are great rigs just to pricey for what you get these days.

My bride and I are really happy and confident that we chose Redwood for our rig. We too read a lot on forums in our search for "the perfect RV". We nearly drove ourselves nuts in the process. We found ourselves bending to every breeze that swept across the computer screen and finally decided that we would just go out and find a rig that we liked and quit being swayed by the very negative and vocal 10%. We love our 36RE. Is Redwood the only answer? Not by a long shot. Is it our answer? For sure! There will be problems in the long run no doubt but show me a product of any kind that has not had some problems. Heck, even cantalopes have had major problems but I'm still eating them. So, I agree with Dave and Ginny, all RV's are beautiful in their own way,

Yes, when I finally decided on the Redwood my wife breathed a sigh of relief. I keep broughures for years and when I finally landed on Redwood I loaded up all of my broughures and put them in one of my 4 drawer file cabinets for future use.

I guess it's the guy in me but I research.....research...and then research some more and my wonderful camping partner wife of almost 34 years puts up with all the sh$%. I have brouchures from most major brands of cars, trucks, boats, RV's (5th wheels and motor homes) motorcyclesand yes even airplanes (my othe love) all filed away in file cabinets or stacked in a storage room.

I'm not sure who's happier about me finding and loving theRedwood, my wife or myself. One thing is for sure though I need another hobbie now that this puzzle has been solved...........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder what I should buy next.

Agree a 110%. We love our current rig (see sig) but since we're now living 8 to 9 months in the rig we wanted some more room and fell in love with the Island Counter and the front walk-in closet. I too find it funny that others talk about Lippert frames being junk, but I think they make a majority of the frames for many of the towables and even some of the MH. So most likely those bashing Lippert are more than likely riding on one.
Oh well, such is life, we're happy with our decision so that's all that matters to us

I was on another forum last night and someone on there said that only full time units have plywood floors instead of OSB....well redwood has that. Then they said well full time units have the new ducted a/c units so they're quiet....well Redwood has that.....windowless door? yep Redwood has that too

I think Redwood really took the RV world by surprise with their units and for some reason people haven't taken the time to really look at them. Other people just seem to justify their RV but bashing what they don't have.

You sure hit the nail on the head, it is easy to sit here
and bad mouth a unit you don’t have and really wish you did. Myself and my
camping buddy’s look at RV’s </span>every time
we can I looked at the Landmark and for little over a year and that was the ONE I
looked at the RW back in Jan </span>2011 and it
was high on my list but like Dave &amp; Ginny I did my research and just had to
take one more look at the RW and after we spent 4 to 5 hours at my dealer in
Richmond Va </span>h2oman left his deposit on
the 36 RL and my deposit was on the 26RE that should be in any day now I hope! don’t
know how much more I can take reading about the RW and not having mine. One
thing is they do have the two year warranty! So when you see two Readwoods with
the black &amp; red full body paint say hi it will be us.

I have noticed the ones bashing the Redwoods have never looked at them - or at least it seems that way. I have seen comments about their 10" frame (?) and how they aren't built for full time, the poor warranty, obviously the bashers never even looked at any real info on Redwoods. I would love to own one!

A friend of mine is going to order a 36FL just like the one we ordered. We plan on chasing each other around the country in a few years. It can be alot fun running with some one else.

Well my wife and I are the campground hosts at Lake Ahquabi state park in Iowa just south of Des Moines about 20 miles so come on by we can sit at the campfire and share some story's.

none yet, we have to sell our acreage, then we plan on full-timing. we hoped to buy a Redwood, but with the prices going up so much, we don't know what we will end up with. I guess we if the price we would have to pay ts too high we may have to get something else and wait for a used one later on. Well, first off...don't worry about it. The prices advertised are alot higher than what you'll actually pay. The buyer is still in the charge when buying RV's.

I do know that acreage in my area still gets a pretty penny because investers are buying up landfor the years to come.

If the redwood thing doesn't work out there are some very nice unit out there that cost a little less like some of the Heartlands. Also if you don't go with the full body paint I think you could get one of the Redwoodsfor real close to 60k if you fight hard enough.

I agree that if you look and shop, you can get a Redwood in the 60's. Also, if the price of fuel goes up like they say it will, that may have an effect on the price of all RV's.

I think the prices are set for the 12's but the 13's could be a different story. In a lot of cases i have seen where you can buy a new rig cheaper than a used rig, imagine what this will do for our values if this trend continues.
