This seems to be a go idea. When I get home this year I'll try that.

We now know for sure that our black tank sensors don't work:
Brand new: 1/3 full
3 days of use: 1/3 full
First pull to empty: 1/3 full
One week of use as of today: 1/3 full
:-(
Where is that punchlist...???

I would try using my black tank rinse to fill the tank (not completely full but over half) and then drain. I've had my black tank show 1/3 full for a week and then when I really rinsed the tank it went back to normal. There is a possibility that something is caught somewhere. It's worth a try before you take it in for repair and it works fine for the dealer.

Thanks R&M!! Good advice, I will do so. Do a long rinse on our next pull... see what happens. I am used to not using the sensors anyway, so certainly won't take it in just for that. I HATE when they say, "We couldn't duplicate the problem" hahaha! I always say, "oh, those darn RV Ghosts!"

Kind of look like a fool when the tech shows you that everything is working as it should and you've just spent a month without it working properly........gotta love the shaking and rocking as it goes down the road.

Have never trusted the sensors on any of our units.

How do you know when your black tank is over 1/2 full if the sensors don't work?

Been fulltime in ours for 18 months & black sensors are still at 1/3 regardless of rinse, chemicals, geo-method or anything else, just listen or dump weekly.

I don't know for sure but I've dumped enough and used the rinse enough where I know I've got enough water in there to flush everything out. I guess it's just a timed thing.

Go to you "User CP" then go to "edit signature" scroll down to where you can add a picture then (The part I didn't realize) you have to click on the words "insert signature picture" in order for the picture to show up in your signature.

For me...sound, as the black tank fills the sound of the flush changes, because I'm so used to it I can tell when the tank is getting full.
We live in our rig fulltime so I know every "normal" sound, when I hear something I'm not used to hearing my ears perk up and I start investigating.
