could be the thermostat or the control board in the roof heat pump. You would need to open up the roof AC covers and check to see if there is 12 volts on the G and common terminal. If there is then disconnect the wire and see what side has the voltage (board or thermostat wire). This isn't a job for someone with little electrical control wiring experience.
