Both HP Thermostats not switching off

I haven't seen this problem mentioned in the forums. For some reason when we turn the electric heat to the OFF position on the thermostat, the fan continues to run indefinitely. It won't turn off. Sometimes when we jiggle it we can get it to turn off, but usually that doesn't work. The only way around it is for us to unplug from electric altogether or leave the thermostat set to ON, but change the temperature setting much lower so that it won't come on. Does this sound like a electrical short of some kind, or do you think a new thermostat is needed? This is happening to both of our thermostats, in the living area and bedroom. We have a 2017 38GK, and they have always worked previously.

could be the thermostat or the control board in the roof heat pump. You would need to open up the roof AC covers and check to see if there is 12 volts on the G and common terminal. If there is then disconnect the wire and see what side has the voltage (board or thermostat wire). This isn't a job for someone with little electrical control wiring experience.
