How many of you travel with a CB radio? The reason for my question is thatlast week I saw a Redwood rolling down the highway and I would have loved to said hi to them. I usually don't run with mine on anymore because of all of the B.S. assciated with them. However I think it would be nice if all the Redwood owners would agree to a particlular channel when we see each other on the highway in passing.

Any thoughts or ideas?

dave

Cool idea Dave, they could flash their lights to indicate if they have a cb and will take a call on a particular channel. Sorta like a secret handshake.

I haven't used a CB since the early 80's and wasn't aware people still installing them in their personal vehicles. It would nice if we had some way to post our cell phone number in password protected forum directory.

Well a CB can still be a usfull tool for knowing about traffic jams and stuff like that. In the old days many of the rv'res stayed on channel 15 or 13 I can't remember which. Now with everybody having cell phones we don't need CB radios in case of problems on the road but I still use one because I've been warned about a window flapping in the wind or a flat tire by trucks. Also alot of the CB's also have a weather band on them too.

That's right...we really need to do a rally. My wife and I would love to find others we could travel around with. I've worked real hard on over coming my shyness.

That's true...it can be entertaining as long as you don't have thin skin.

Guess I'll have to dust off my 1977, 40 channel Realistic CB and mount the 8' whip antennas. My old handle was "Dreamer" but I may have to change it to "Dreams Realized"..
Brreeaaaaker 14, breaker, break!

That's a bit radical but might work

Oh...I always thought truckers aimed their antennas forward to spear bugs so they didn't explode on their mirrors.
