looking at a 38GK15 it has a side by side gas fridge installed, could it be changed out for the Samsung counter depth french door fridge is the pocket large enough?
The short answer is Yes, but it does take a little modification, if you have a drawer under the fridge, you'll loose it. You can also us a 20 cu ft Whirlpool, that's what's in our friends '15 FL and our '16 MB.

The 18 Samsung will clear the island by about 1/2" when slide is in, but the fridge MUST be mounted all the way in against the back wall. You'll have to reroute some wiring and move the rcptacle to the side. Makes a nice installation. You will lose the drawer underneath.

We probably have close to an inch between the left door and the counter, while you can still open the right side door.
We did not do a swap, ours is the factory installed unit.
