Changing tv mounts

I would like to install a swivel mount that would enable me to turn the new 50" tv I have upgraded to in my 2012 RW31SL from side to side. The mounting kit I have selected mounts only to studs on 16" centers. Does anyone know where the studs are in the rear wall and whether they are on 16" centers? Any other advise on this issue is appreciated.

I know the wall behind the bedroom tv is 3/4" wood so may be the same on living room, so studs wouldn't matter.

2" square aluminum studs aren't really studs. They won't support anything, and in fact you can damage them if whatever you mount to them tears away.

Redwood installed wood behind my brackets for the TVs. Some install steel plates. You might try to verify that if you can.

Thanks, for your response. It looks like the existing mounting bracket is mounted to a wood plate but I cannot figure out how wide it is. Don't want to ruin the wall with exploratory holes to see if it is 16" or more wide.
