Note that not only do they have a form to fill out and send to redwood, but they also have a page in your manual that must be filled out...

Since I never knew there was a small manual like this - I didn't know that until he gave me a manual during my one year inspection...

(and this was not the dealer I bought from -
so optimistic that he will take care of my issues )

Ya - Like Rick I always thought it would be vertical. A pic would be great.

I'm half thinking I could even try to paint with the touch up paint.

Brad - the coach is currently with the dealer, so I cropped one of the photographs from our recent trip. Not the best, but hopefully will show you what you need.

Mine appears to have a horizontal stress joint, right behind the overhang.

That's perfect, thanks Andy!

Did they have to do both sides on your FL?

This is what our 38FL looks like from the factory at the front edge of both front slides.

Brad - Negative, only the door side, which is the heavy slide on the 36FL with the entertainment centre.

Nothing developing on the other side.

We had stress cracks under both front slides and at the top rear of our driver's side bedroom slide, all had to be reinforced and fixed. It is a structural problem and Redwood handled it in a very professional manner. We have a 2012 36FL and have approximately 58K miles on the coach. We have had no additional stress crack problems.

Ok, I have egg on my face.... WE DO have an expansion joint! I went out and looked and there is a plastic-covered seam from the front corner of the BR slide to the base of the unit. Duh!

Ken did yours crack or is it a preventative fix?

When mine was taken to the Service Center for repairs, I placed that on my to-do list and Rick Drinkwine said they would look at it but if it didn't need it they wouldn't do it as a preventative measure. He told me the same thing about the front and rear cap being painted. Just something more to keep an eye on even though they know they have a potential problem waiting to show itself.

Is there just a single joint on the slide side?

Three Montana high country folks are staying here this weekend. All three rigs have that joint in place from the factory. I check every time we set up, so far so good. I would hope that RW follows suit.

I probably shouldn't say this, but, after 3 years of towing over 16000 miles, haven't had any cracking issues.
