Apologies for the delayed response, as I am just going through old posts after the cruise.

At our first annual inspection I requested our dealer to check the wheels, brakes and repack the bearings. Got a call the next day that all 4 were contaminated with grease.

Being non-mechanically inclined it wasn't something I did, could probably get the tires off but nothing else.

Dealer contacted Redwood and they accepted the entire repair under warranty. Yet another example of how Redwood stands by their products.

I have had my bearings repacked 3X thus far since purchasing my coach (2012 36FL) and each time the drums had grease in them. We are going to MorRyde this month to have IS placed on the coach and I am going to see about replacing the stock bearings with something better. will post results after installation on 28 May

We just had our first annual inspection and service, I asked our dealer about the grease problem and he told me that they do run into the problem, it's not a Redwood specific problem, many of the RV's have the same issue. He also told me they ALWAYS replace the seals when servicing to a different, much better seal to avoid the issue.

Luckily we didn't have a problem with our!!

I submitted everything to Redwood on Monday, they then submit it to Lippert. Hopefully Lippert is responsive and willing to reimburse for it. Should know soon.

Good luck in getting it approved and reimbursed.

Thought I'd update this thread. Lippert essentially ignored Redwoods request to warranty the bearing grease in the brakes, claimed not enough evidence. I guess clear pictures indicating that there's grease where their shouldn't be isn't enough for them...

So Redwood went ahead and reimbursed me directly for all charges related to the work. They definitely stepped up to the plate!

I think that happens more often than not. That's how they were on my spring and shackles - Lippert blamed Redwood and gave me some lippy answer about how they would only warrant the wear parts. Redwood went me a package of everything I needed.
