I finally fixed mine. For years, the dryer howled and drove us out of the trailer when drying even a small load of clothes. I also got the same “it’s not that bad” or “just deal with it” response that you just got here.
The problem is that the smallish motor shaft bearings are not sealed units and get corroded when in storage during damp winters - especially here in New England. Ours was dead quiet until after the first or second year of use. The bearing replacement instructions are on the internet and point to sealed replacement bearings available on Amazon which only cost about $9 each.
Replacing them requires removal & disassembly but not very difficult if you’re mechanically inclined. Mine sounds like new after the $18 repair.
