With the 30a adapter you have 1 30a leg come out of the box. The adapter splits this into 2 legs to feed your 50a plug from your trailer. It's like a Y in the road. You still only have 30a. going to your trailer but how much is going down each leg depends on what you have requesting power and which leg it is on.

Yep, that was one of the reasons I put it there, so the cable from the shore line would reach the suppressor, then I just ran a new cable back into the transfer switch from the suppressor.

My wife was laughing at me when I put it in. There is a surprising amount of room up there, and the generator heat shield is far taller than it really needs to be. I took a lantern and stood on a cooler and all she could see were my ankles. I told her we should install a mother-in-law apartment up there!

There is a surprising amount of room up there, and it stays pretty clean. It's the perfect spot for transporting yappy little camping dogs!
