I recently discovered a website to help plan your fuel stops.
http://www.findfuelstops.com

It's free and works great. I usually only travel 200 miles or so between stops so finding truck stops wasn't an issue. When we had to travel from New Hampshire to Mississippi recently knowing where fuel stops would be really put us at ease.
If you travel more than one tankfull at a time, you may find it helpful as well.

If you have a smartphone a good app is "Gasbuddy".

Does gasbuddy allow you to put in height etc....1st trip and don't want to get in a tight spot.

Gas Buddy just finds fuel stops for gas or diesel based on a search or your GPS location. Trips with no low bridges and other nasty stuff would have to come from a GPS or trip planning software. I use the Rand McNally RVND7710 with downloaded fuel stops, campgrounds, low bridge data, etc. to plan my trips.

Use the website but my advice is to stick with truck stops. They can handle the height and length of our rigs.

Get the Pilot/Flying J app - it will locate the closet one, give you prices and you never have to worry about 'fitting'

Download Trucker Path, it shows all truck stops & low clearances as well as Walmarts. I use it along with GPS, maps & other resources to plan trips & stops.

+2 on Trucker Path. If Tracy had to do without anything else she would, but Trucker Path has become indispensable.

Exactly...plus the fact that you can be assured, as best you can, that you're getting fresh fuel.

Another option to consider is add an auxiliary fuel tank (e.g. TransferFlow) and fill up using GasBuddy before you hook up the RV so that on the road you don't have to refuel. I added a 50 gallon tank and have a range of over 750 miles between refuels. Note that the extra fuel does add weight but it was worth it to me.

I only have a small 35 gallon external fuel tank (fits under my bed cover) and it sure eliminates time at the fuel islands. It's true our bladders can only wait so long but since we use truck stops for fuel, there were times that we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get to the fuel island. Now I only have to fuel once a day. I can go 450-500 miles while pulling the Redwood without waiting for fuel.
