First Yearly Inspection

We are coming up on our first yearly inspection in April. As we live in our RW full time, we are of course wanting it to be in the shop the least # of days.

To that end, are folks finding that there things that are typically being repaired or replaced at the 1 year mark e.g.)hot water tank rods, furnace heat exchangers, etc.?

If there are items, then I may ask that the dealership pre-order any parts so they are ready to be installed rather than having to wait on shipping.

Any other pos/neg experiences and/or advice re: what to expect, what to ask for would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone

My first years inspection took about 1 hour and most of that time was waiting for the caulk to dry. The factory is doing this years inspection for me.

Going in for my first one end of March. I went the local Dealer and was a little shocked that the didn't ask if I bought it there. They were more than accommodating, and asked me to make a list of any warranty items I want taken care of and they will address them all at once.

He told me pre-ordering gets a little complicated, as he would have to look at it now, get authorization, then order, which basically meant we are doing the inspection now. He preferred to do it all when I brought it in, and if parts needed ordered he would have us come back in when they got here.

The problem we are having here, and I'm sure other places, is it keeps snowing and temps are in the teens so its hard for them to work on them outside, and a little tough to tie up their bay for a day for caulking.

I think I may need a leveling jack (leaking) and a door gap fixed. I never got the sealant to stick on the new slide seals I installed. Beyond that, I should be OK.

Ian - we had our first annual in December. The dealer took about an hour for the inspection, which was complimentary. They added some additional caulking to the roof.

I also asked them to inspect and repack the wheels, which is when they found that oil or grease had contaminated the brakes. That took them 3 or 4 days to fix as they had to machine some pieces. Redwood covered the cost of the repairs.

Thanks Andy/Judi. Will make sure they inspect our wheels/brakes as well - thought I may have seen some leakage/discoloration last fall when I was winterizing.

I did flush my hot water tanks and replaced the anode rod at the 1 year mark.

Worked outside until todays snow storm on the shore in CT at temps 7º-20º and windy. This year has really pushed my Florida state of mind. Thinking about the rest of the nation we are very lucky. I think for a lot of us the Four Season feature of our coaches is a moog point when the weather has it's own thoughts. Spring will bet here someday! (Yeah!)

Just finished our 1 year inspection at Lazydays in Tucson. Passed with flying colors except for 1 set of brakes (auto function seemed to be faulty. Down to 1/10" with only 5,000 miles). Called RW. They are going to cover it! Happy days, are here again...!

We are not as bad as some - just moderate drought here in the dfw area --
but most lakes are below normal even after a LOT of rain to start off the year http://special.wfaa.com/discoverboat...exaslakes.html
