Front cap dripping water

I know that several years ago someone posted about the insulation in the front cap but I can't find it so let me see if any of you have had the problem I am having. I recently noticed water dripping from the bottom corner of my front cap. I am in Louisiana living in my 31sl full time under a polebarn. The weather has been rainy and we have had extreme temperature changes so I figured I was dealing with a condensation issue. I do have capped off washer water lines behinh the paneling in the closet so to make sure I did not have a leaking water line I decided to investigate. 4 screws hold the shoe cabinet into the wall so we started by removing that so we could see inside cap. Sure enough condensation was on most of the cap and running down to the bottom of cap and somehow working it's way out where the cap meets the front of the fifth wheel. Redwood has a foil type insulation loosely on the cap and then unfaced fiberglass insulation somewhat attached to back of all the interior wood walls. I also found a way to access washer plumbing and the capped lines are not leaking.

Has anyone else experience this condensation and figured a way to better insulate to minimize it? Of course we do not have this problem when temps are not changing to the extremes.

I know some of the guys with DRV's are blowing the front and back caps full of insulation. Their insulation had come loose and was settling to the bottom.They do this thru one or more of the marker lights.
They were having extreme heat intrusion in the areas. Al tho this is not what you are stating, I would think it would be the same, only in reverse

I took out the shoeboxes and then stuffed as much 6” batt insulation into the cap as I could. Made a very large difference in the indoor temps and seems to have stopped any condensation issues. Got almost two full rolls in there.

Did you remove the loosely hanging reflector insulation or just push it up against cap when you stuffed the Bart insulation in? I assume you used unfaced batting?

Hi Rick. I taped the foil back in place as well as I could with gorilla tape and the unfazed batts.

Thanks, I was thinking I might try some sort of double sided tape to reinstall silver insulation. I read on another forum where they used spray glue to install it but the fumes from that stuff is powerful!

I re-did the insulation in the front of my old 16 38RL...

Removed the show boxes and removed all the insulation that had fallen to the ground. I then used spray glue to re adhere the reflex foil, cut the new insulation to fit, stacked it on top of each other all the way to the top.

It made a huge improvement.
