Furnace help
We have a 2019 3901WB.
We're traveling from FL to Maine. It's going to get very cold. I can't seem to get my furnace to operate when we are towing the unit on the highway. We have power when hooked to the truck, but the gas furnace will not operate.. any ideas?

Btw, the furnace works properly with the generator, or shore power, just not on 12V

Maybe there is too much wind turbulence when towing and the fan can't open the sail switch. Do you by chance have the battery switch in the off position.

Make sure your batteries are in good condition. Furnace runs off 12 volts. When either shore power or genset is running, the converter is running so you have 12 volts in the coach. If the batteries are older or not holding a load - no furnace.
It might be a wind issue, but I towed many times with the furnace running and didn’t have any problems.

Thank you both. I am wondering if it's the wind. When I'm parked, it's on, when I travel, it goes out. But I can start it again as soon as I'm stopped..

I had a similar issue with my 2012 36RL. I could start the furnace prior to departing for Florida in November when the temperatures were in the low 30's but it would fault out and stop operating by the time I reached a break stop point. I decided it was a wind issue. So, I would warm up the coach to 75 degrees in the evening prior to departure in the morning and the coach would hold enough heat that I could make a trip of 325 miles and the coach temperature would still be in upper 50's to lower 60's by the time we stopped at our destination for the evening.

Assuming you have a good battery bank and good size solar panels you could run a cube heater, or you heat pump until to stop moving. I have run the AC several times while going down the road, heat pump would do the same thing .(trouble free)

so you mentioned that it works when you have 120v supplied to the coach, gen, land but not when you are not connected. for me that could be as simple as a 12v fuse to a wire break some where. put a voltage tester on the leads going to the furnace including the blower when the AC is on. see what you are getting. then while still connected with the leads have some one disconnect the shore power and see if it drops. if you are getting a low voltage like 8-10 volts its batteries. if drops to "0" a fuse or wire
