Dale, I am assuming that you already removed the exterior flue and large access cover to get that far?? It should slide outside of its frame once the LP line is removed. Wiring will probably also have to be disconnected, so be sure to write down what colors go where. Only 12v wires and thermostat connections. So make sure your propane is off and then remove the compression fitting, being sure to use 2 wrenches to keep the fitting on the furnace from rotating or breaking off. Here is a link to some repair info for the suburban SF42 and several other models.

Good Luck..

Also use a meter and check for voltage first. If your batteries are weak, the fan motor won't spin fast enough to move the sail switch to engage. Then it won't allow gas for ignition. That could be why the fan is stopping without the furnace going through a heating cycle.

Have you recently had propane refilled? Could just be air in the lines, light all burners on the cooktop to purge the line.

I know that this is unrelated to your current issue. However, if you have not already done so, I HIGHLY suggest that you put a screen over your intake and flue outlet. The reason being my wife and I had a problem with our furnace having issues. Poor combustion and CO2 issues! Bad deal, so I took it in for service and a family of dirt dobbers decided to make a home inside our furnace. I have since installed a screen over the inlet and outlet to prevent a future bug problem.

They are kind of like a wasp? They will build their nests or homes if you will with mud. I don't know where you are located at but my wife and I are from Oklahoma but in all likehood we picked them up in North Dakota last year sometime. We didn't have to run our furnace until we came up to the Iowa/Illinois area for work this fall and winter.

We are from the western side of Okla and those little guys can build a home out of mud in a short amount of time. They love summer time showers that keeps the mud workable.
