Got bad news today

Been feeling down lately, sluggish.. Took a trip to see my Dr. today and the news was not good...

Turns out I got a disease called..
Miss My Camper Itus .

Went to the RV show this weekend, all the talking about campers, and all the talking to the campgrounds made it worse...
It has been 5 months since my last trip, with another month to go.

I know. I felt the same after we went to the Springfield, MA camping show couple weeks ago. Pretty appalling how all the higher end units have dropped out over the years. But it's therapeutic to walk through and see how cheaply and tackily made all the mid-range 5th Wheels have gotten (you can name the brands I'm sure). Quality equipment and materials are a thing of the past on all these units. And how about that vinyl flooring that tries to resemble an oak floor installed in every single brand and model?? Most of the time you depart wondering "ugh...what were they thinking?"

Then you get home and see that Redwood at your house and you can't wait to spend some time out on the road. Mine is turning 5 years old this year and still looks brand new inside and out. Can't wait to hit Myrtle Beach a month from now...

Larry , I would do that but i just hate to run the heat long enough to get it warm enough to sit out there..
I was out there the other day insulating the closet, and the inside temps were right at 32. . . Not exactly napping weather

I know the feeling, I just bought my 38RL in February, spent one night in it at the dealer only to bring it home and park it. All I can do is stare at the pictures I took of the insides. LOL. just a couple of more weeks till Spring.

We have actually headed out to the RW and bring a few adult drinks and put a movie in, turn the fireplace on. Spring is almost here!!

This past Sunday it was 26 degrees inside and it took all of 3 hours to finally have the furnace shut off for a minute or two and I had set it at 70.

Joe, you going to MB again this year?

Steve

Ford truck,
That disease is bad this time of year!!!!
You will defiantly need to start out slow this time of year or you will loose control and relapse.
Next weekend back the truck up to the trailer but do not hook on. The following weekend go ahead and hook on but don't lift the jacks up. On the third weekend go ahead and raise the jacks up and get the heck out of town and enjoy your summer living in the camper.

Don't think so Steve, i think it will either be the Keys and Disney... or just Disney, still waiting on my BETTER half to decide where I am driving her...

When are you meeting up with Vaughn in DC?

The truck is already backed up to the trailer... I am afraid if I get it any closer, i will go off the deep end.. and my family wont see me for a few days, weeks, whatever... just need another warm weekend so I can give it a bath and start the waxing...

We have a 2012 36fl. I am wondering if anyone has trouble with tire blow outs. Also, we have a 2006 2500 diesel 4wd dodge. Will this truck be adequate to pull our 5th wheel. The dealer said we would be, but just wanted other input.

Thanks

Joe, with selling the house and going fulltime by May, I don't think we will be doing D.C.

Marquette - if your 2012 has E load range Goodyear Marathons on it, replace them with G rated tires and possibly wheels if yours are. Not rated for 110 psi. Many have been down this road, the E tires WILL blow out, just a matter of when, not if.

If you're only going to tow the coach a few miles down the road, the 2500 may do it but you will be overweight considerably. For most Redwoods, there's a reason we pull with Duallys........

If it has E rated Marathons DON'T tow it with anything until you've replaced with minimum of G rated tires. After replacing the tires "will your 2500 tow it?", yes, would anyone on this forum tow it with a 3/4 ton truck, 99.9% will say NOPE, 1 ton minimum, preferably dually.

I wonder if the warm weather has messed up the cherry blossoms this year anyway? . .

Love our 2012 36RL. Looking to fix the floor under dining. Had a leak and didn't find it until too late. Any ideas? We would rather fix than replace.

We can testify, we had 3 blow outs on one trip! Replace the tires asap!
