Gray Tank Valve Cable Replacment

Has anyone had to change out the cable on the gray water tank?

I thought I had to replace ours but once I took it apart I found a tiny stone stuck in it so it would not close all the way.
Hardest part is releasing the under belly to get access.

I thought mine was bad as well, once we pulled it a part i found a piece of plywood in the valve. It might not be the cable at all.

Are you sure the valve didn't open, or did it open fine but the pipe is froze?

It was a little cold here yesterday. South Bend, IN had -15 for a record for yesterday.

I know plenty of places get colder but this was rough enough.

It's possible you just pulled the cable loose from the valve stem, it's attached in most with a set screw, in others the cable is bent/looped through the hole on the stem.
The worst part is whether broken or came loose you'll have to lower the coroplast underbelly to repair/replace, that's the PITA part.

Thanks for the information.
The cabe was looped into the valve stem and it just pulled out.
On my 36FB, the rear gray tank 1, the lavatory and shower dump contrary to the Redwood drawings that I uploaded from the site.

Its as someone stated in a previous reply, they must not run the piping as per design documents........

Thanks for the information! Piece of cake, other than working in 20* weather, and I can now take a good hot shower.

On my FB the washing machine, if equipped, also runs into that grey tank. Kitchen sink & dishwasher, if equipped, run into the other grey tank.
