I have a B&W Companion hitch on my Ford F450, what kind of grease should I use around the pin on the pin box and the inside of the jaws on the hitch? It looks like it came with a red grease, possible lithium.

All of last year I used one of the white disks on my Companion hitch but this year it started sticking (while unhooking) so I started using a "Molly" based axle grease. So far it works but a little messy.

I have a lube plate as well that's doing well, but do you put grease around your pin where it goes in the jaws?

I have used white lithium spray and molly axle grease and ues I put grease on the jaws and the pin.....But if you have a slider hitch don't waste your money on the lube plate will not work because of the cam on your adapter plate

Hell I've got grease everywhere now It's kind of a mess but last month while the rig was in a bind I couldn't get it unhooked. Before my next trip in a few weeks I'll clean it up and try again.

I got a tube of red lithium grease from Walmart and put some around the pin on the RV, I don't use any on the lube plate.
