Does anyone know if their is a separate setting for electric or gas temperature?? My hot water works great on gas when I switch it over to electric it barely gets warm?? Thanks
Same thing happened to me while wintering. Look under the black cover in the enclosed image. Make sure to shut off power before doing so. Then inspect this part below the black cover and check for wiring burns etc. Replacement is easy peasy.

There should be 2 of those thermostats, 1 for 12 volt another for 120 volt.
Sure the wires aren't shorting out against the tank by the black cover or pinched by the metal lip.
Could also be a corroded heating element. Does the anode rod corrode badly often? If so it's likely that element has corroded in to.

FYI both of those images were screen shot off an online shopping website. Readily available. I happened to be in Mesa AZ and found them at Robert Crist RV dealer.

T-stat is easy to change and runs approx $15.
Had to replace ours when we were only getting lukewarm water on electric.
