I thought I would try my selling Dealer and just do it sight unseen, but not sure if they will go for it.

The problem is solved by most but not all companies if the policy is bought in the first 12 months. A good policy will provide 5 years replacement cost, then revert to purchase price. They require a copy of the sales agreement.

Buying the policy when the trailer is used can be tricky as Brad has found out. Purchase price maybe different than agreed value especially if they are asking for a current appraisal. The current appraisal will be less than purchase price but at least you'll lock in the agreed value.

Be careful to read the loss settlement provisions. I have seen "agreed value or ACV, which ever is less".....bad coverage!!

Ours is thru Progressive and was purchased thru Lazy Days when we picked it up, so it was easy on the value as they had the Original Sales order with the MSRP.

Sounds like I lucked out with Good Sam, as they go by model year so I'm still a 2014 even though we bought in 2013. I get a few days left this year and 4 more years replacement, then purchase price after year 5 for however long I keep the policy in effect.
