King Pin tri-pod support

I just picked up a 38GK. Along with it the previous owner left me a tripod to go under the King Pin for additional support. I have only slept in the unit 2 nights. But when we walk in the unit it does not shake at all when leveled. Is this really something that is needed. I just find it is a big piece of heavy not needed equipment. Do other people use them??? Any comments??
Thanks Wayne

We don't feel we need it either in our GK. If I added anything for stability, it would be the stabilizing jacks on the rear.

Never used one...IMO just another item to set up, take down, and find a place to store.

Through it out!!!! If any 5er needs one it's not worth buying!
Another aftermarket gimmick unless you have a nice telescope and you forget your tripod at home.

I agree with the other comments. Tried one once on another 5ver and didn't make much difference. Not needed especially with the hydraulic leveling system.

I used one for awhile and but gave it away. Didn't feel any benefit. I did add a rear stabilizer.

Add a rear stabilizer, throw tripod away or list in Craigslist.

Yes in agreement with the previous posts, with six way leveling you will not need the tripod, I don't miss it.

And if you have the Tri-Glide, FlexAir, or just the TrailAir King Pin with the Air Bag, how much difference could it make???

Had one with our last 5er, but when we got the RW with the level up system the tripod & the lumber yard of blocks were the first things I got rid of. If we park somewhere that seems more bouncy than usuall I'll put a bottle jack under the rear hitch, but usually it's not a problem.

Yep we had one with our previous SOB 5th Wheel
Glad to get rid of that PITA unit, more stuff to tote around and deal with.
I did install the Steady Fast Stabilizers, now even with the Washer / Dryer running, no shake, very solid

We also used a King Pin Tripod on our previous 5er. With only electric front jacks and rear electric jacks, it was needed to make the unit solid. With our RW the front is very solid and doesn't move. The movement in the rear of the coach was eliminated when I put Lippert electric jacks on the rear of the RW right in front of the boat hitch.

Ha Ha Ha If I remember right that happened 3 or 4 years ago but there were only a very few of us on the site at that time
