Kitchen sink

I was looking at my sink in the kitchen over the last few days an have noticed that the whole sink in coming unglued from the counter top. What do I do now? The sink has long threaded what appears to be mounting points in 6 locations around the sink but no mounting hardware. Any ideas anyone?

I have the quartz counter tops & had the same problem, I cut blocks to wedge under the back side & used a large C clamp & blocks on the front & squirted construction adhesive in the gap & tightened the clamp & blocks, so far it's been 2 years & still holding.

Did the same as Danny, ours are Quartz also. Heavy suckers but gotta say we love them. Never worry about anything hot on the counter and they look as good now as they did almost 4 years ago (where does I me go).

Are you saying that the countertop has to be removed?

No - you just have to have some supports ready to wedge the sink up against the bottom of the countertop until the adhesive sets up.

What a relief that is. Yesterday I had all the door and drawers off and out of the thing thinking how I was going to do it. What were they thinking? Good quality workmanship Redwood. I am here in Ellsworth Maine and many people asking about my Redwood, it is very hard to say nice things about a Crossroads made Redwood. I will have to say my 2013 looks a little better built than the 2016 I was just in, but who knows.

Vaughn, so did your sink have clear silicone caulk between the sink and the countertop? I also have the quartz and love them. I have not had much problem but I'm sure eventually the sink will want to separate. I did find out real quick that you do not want to travel with the quartz sink covers on because the weight will cause the sink to drop. I'm just wondering if you tried to get all the original caulk off before you used new adhesive??

Rick, I dug out what I could without completely seperating the sink & used a Permatex super duper adhesive back in the gap, if it oozes out a bit let it dry & it can be easily trimmed, let cure 24 hours & take the wedges & clamps off, then I recaulked around it with an almond colored tube & tile caulk.

And yes, our quartz sink covers are actually in storage. Didn't see any reason to bring them along and we have the plastic ones to go on the sink for covers or cutting boards.

My sink went in storage the day we brought the RW home, after it had already scratched the sink.

I don't know if you can still get them or not. When we bought our RL in the fall of '13 it was available from Redwood for $45.00 for the pair. They are made out of either Delrin or a Marine polypropylene material like a cutting board would be. Sized to fit over top of the sinks and have a routed edge so they don't slide. Don't use them that often but comes in handy when you need a bigger cutting board.

I think I would contact Tiara RV and see if they are still available.

I'll take a picture next time in the coach. It's in the driveway as I'm about halfway through replacing the PITA Norcold with a Samsung

Hey Vaughan, don't have ours back yet, but the dealer told me they had to move the island "about an inch" or so to keep the freezer handle from hitting the drawer above the plate drawer when the driver's side slide was pulled in. Thought you'd like to know.

X2. When I was having warranty work done at the service center about 2 years ago, I asked them about the plastic sink covers because I remember someone on here mentioning them and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I would love to have some. I thought about making my own out of laminate but if I can get some already made to fit, why bother.

We got our '13FB in Nov 2012 & it came with the plastic sink covers, they are stored with the quartz ones somewhere.

Hi Shane - the old one is ready to come out, have to enlist the aid of at least one more strong person. Lol. Samsung is stripped of doors and ready to go into the coach while I get the woodwork ready for it. It really looks to be an easy swap. Not going to have time to do an inverter before we leave for the Rally but from talking to others, I'm finding that even with no power for 6-7 hours it only losses a degree or two

I'll get the inverter done in the fall. Right now it's 98-100 degrees here.
