lower water pressure?

Does/has anyone experienced lower water pressure with the use of the filtration unit?

We are a campground that has high water pressure , I always use the same regulator.. but the water pressure is lower than usual,.,.
I know a few years back I purchased an inline filter for my hose at home , it was supposed to stop water spots on vehicles as you wash them , after a week or so I tore it off because I could not handle the low water pressure... I was thinking of removing the filter from the canister and seeing if that does the trick>?? Thoughts ??

Try it. Also remove all your screens from the faucets and clean them. And also in the water lines down below the filter is a screen. That one can be a culprit.

Thanks piper guy , would that screen be before or after the filter ?

There are no screens at the filter, there is one at the inlet and also the faucets. I found that the filter makes very little difference. I did find almost every screen plugged. The kitchen water seems to be the weakest no matter what, and has always been on the low side. Dealer never found a fix, I think it's the faucet type/brand.

Trace your water lines below the filter ~ there is a small, golf ball sized plastic filter screen. It twists apart.

How about trying without the regulator? I've had these go bad before.

Both great suggestions. I think the twist appart screen is supposed to be for the water pump sucking water from the tank. I think the way these are plumbed all the water goes through it.

Thanks for all the suggestions... Once I get done work tonight and get back to the campground , I will check the screens first.. then the filter itself....
I hat to delete the regulator.. I had a problem here at this park a few years ago... They even have signs posted ALL AROUND stating that they have VERY HIGH water pressure--YOU MUST USE A REGULATOR...
And we all know how well I follow directions>

We experienced a high flow burst, then the water would slow down its flow (especially in the galley sink). Our regulator (I think we bought it at Walmart) was actually a "reducer". Once we bought the real thing, the pressure was much better all the way around! We have the OEM filter and an additional filter attached in the convenience center.
All this flies out the window IF you take a shower AND run the dishwasher at the same time, tho.

I meant just temporary to see if that is the problem. You don't have to hook it to the trailer, just try it with a spray nozzle both with and without the regulator.

Ya if its that high of pressure, I don't think I would risk exposing your plumbing with it. What type of regulator do you have by the way? Is it adjustable?

The Camco special... I had a watts but the gauge went bad and I have not replaced it yet. I really liked that one as I could dial up any pressure I wanted ... the Camco version has the dial on it telling me the pressure going in... it shows on the low end of normal....

I have this one, and it works OK. I keep forgetting to take it out in the winter and I've froze up the gauge twice and replaced the gauge. Who knows if the actual regulator is still working, but water comes out and I don't feel like paying another $60 or so

You can pick up a 3/4" household regulator at any home improvement store for about $30, then throw that cheap water restrictor away.

The easiest way I've found to regulate pressure, is to not open the faucet all the way. Although this doesn't work well with lever actuated frost free valves. Our kitchen always has less pressure than the bath.

Kitchen pressure is due to the cheapo faucet, after I replaced mine it had better pressure.

Great to hear. Was it the regulator or the filter causing it. Or a combination of both
