Hi Everyone,

We have had 2 of the MCD shades fall when traveling. The whole unit would fall out of the clips that hold it. We had one reinstalled by the dealer but on the way back home, the big shade in the back window fell. The shade is fine, it is the clips that broke so we can't reattach it. The dealer is 2 hours away, so we called Crossroads Service center and they sent us new clips.

We noticed that the old clips that broke move side to side, which is probably why the shades fell. The new ones have 2 rivets on top and don't have that movement. Installing them is an issue. The holes for the mounting screws are not in the same place on the new clips. We have to drill new holes to put the new clips in. However, the space is so small we have to remove the valance over the shades to drill the new holes. Does anyone know how the valances come off? It appears they are held on by clips but I don't just want to pull and find out I ripped them off screws.

Any help would be appreciated.
Ted and Suzy

The valances we replaced had L brackets that had 2 screws in the wall and 2 up into the top of the valance. The two we replaced were in the bedroom.

We figured it out. There were two screws on the back of the valance that was screwed into the cabinet above the window.

Now we can drill the new holes for the new shade clips.
