Hope all of you had great Christmas. We gave ourselves a present by making the final decision on which brand to buy to replace our Cameo. We'll join you all and become Redwood owners next summer when we return to Texas in late September.

I liked the 36FE but was over ruled based on kitchen area... Why is it we get one vote and the wife gets two when it comes to interior floor plans?

Went with another couple to a dealer here in Tucson today.. They own a gorgeous 40' coach and they loved the layout and quality of the 36RL. I was able to get a much closer look and the box section of the frame where it joins the hitch area. The welds and cuts / ends of the frame material was very well done... Also on the early models the converter access / location was next to the filter access door in the pass through bay. Now it is located with the C/B panel by the entry door. The hydraulic hose routing and location of the isolation valves seems to be improved also.

The only problem we (Ahem, I) have is that we'll be at the outside limits of our 2009 3500 SRW. Since we do not carry an excessive amount of stuff I will not be approaching the 16k.... but, I just might "forced" to buy that 2013 F350 long bed DRW Lariat sooner than later..... darn it

We also have a 36RL and really love the floorplan. My only complaint is that we bought the one on the lot that had a king bed in it, so there's not a lot of room when you first enter the bedroom between the bed and the bathroom. And DW is not happy that she didn't get a night stand. So we're eventually going to look into getting a queen bed and having a night stand made. Don't know yet if that can be done with the european spring. But other than that, it's a great floorplan and we love it!

We pull ours with a 2012 Ford SD F350 SWD that we got in October. It was originally bought for the Cameo we had ordered, but fell through. We pulled it from Boise to Vancouver, WA and it pulled like a dream and we had no problems. Didn't want a DWD unless I absolutely had to, but don't think we'll have any problems.

I'm sure you'll have many good years of traveling in your Redwood!!

Dave,

Congratulations about the choice of a 36RL. I think you will really enjoy it.

We ordered our 36RL in July and took delivery in September. We made our our first trip the first week of October, 765 miles round trip to Michigan and back. Our Dodge 3500, SRW handled it very nicely although we don't carry a lot of "stuff" like some folks do, so, the truck is not overloaded. We will find out next July how it handles in the mountains as we are planning a trip to Colorado.

We stayed with the queen bed so that give us a lot of room in the bedroom. The walk-in closet is great. Took one of our 4 year old granddaughters with us and put a sleeping bag on the floor in the closet where she could sleep close to us.

Again, good luck with your 36RL for many years to come.
