New Pinbox Pic from RW plant tour

Here is a picture I took during our plant tour from this years Redwood Rally. Looks to combine many things. And the colors are bright, possibly to help you avoid walking into it??

Do you happen to remember what the rateing was on that pretty colored Flex Air?
When you put 8K axles on a RW you should get a GVWR 18.5K, but to date it's only been 17.9K because of the Tri-Glide only being 18K. So I wonder if they use a higher rated Flex Air if they'll up the GVWR.

On Edit: OK, enlarged the pic and it looks like the Flex Air is 21K, so it will be interesting to see if RW upps the GVWR to go with the 8K axles and 21K pin.

Mine was also rated at 18K.... Still a great ride over the tri-glide... Nice improvement

The fact that Lippert was pushing the tri-glide as "The Hitch to Have" for a long time......I'm not sure I'd trust this product. I think a person would be better off looking at MOR/ryde products

whats wrong with the concept of the double air bag and shock absorbing the ride verse steel to steel application with a little side to side motion, their the truck feels it for sure.

The new FlexAir works better than a steel PINBOX. It has a single airbag, shock and hard rubber insert under the pin plate like the rotoflex has.

Not sure if the frame stayed the same, BUT last year when I purchased the Flex Air for my "2016" 38RL it was;

LC328492 for the Lippert 1621

Just received mine yesterday for my '12RL. Yes, 328492 was the part number I ordered. Fits any 5th Wheel with L05 marked on the old one. It's considered to be "long style".

I called Lippert today to get the replacement lower jaw for our Tri Glide. It has been banging a lot no matter how many time I grease the fittings. I have some long trips planned this year and do not want any issues on the road with that POS. Don't think we will be keeping our RW more than a couple more years so I am not going to the Flexair. You would think that they would be offering a discount if you wanted to go to the Flexair but I was told the stationary bottom Jaw was all that is offered. If I was to make a complete change I would go to the Moryde pin box.

I called LCI for a new flex air lower jaw I told them the problems I am having with the tri glide pin box and was told there was nothing they could do about it at this time and the only thing I could do is add more air to the bags.

I think Lippert needs to get the customer service folks all on the same page....

That is exactly what they told me, And that conversation prompted me to start looking for its replacement. Even if it meant out of pocket.

I received confirmation that the new lower Jaw is shipping today from Lippert. I asked about a discount on the Flexair and was told they are not offering any discounts. The replacement was only being sent out as a courtesy. Sounds fishy to me.

That is a good deal on the Flex Air. I don't ever seem to get that lucky to find a deal like that.

Flex air pin box

I installed a flex air a year ago and I am on my third unit. The rubber damper twists out of place, lippert has replaced entire unit twice under warranty. I met a guy in Nashville that had the same problem was on his third unit also. The pin box works great when the damper stays in place.

I had heard that this was a concern on the Flex Air but hadn't had anyone confirm it till now. One of the reasons I went with a MorRyde.
