NEW RW38RD! Comments?

So Redwood just posted a teaser on their FB page about a new floorplan, the 38RD. They only put two pics up, but in the pics it looks like a GK kitchen, and the LR appears to be reversed: TV/E Center on the passenger side, AND it appears that there might be sliding doors midship like "french doors" that would divide the LR from the kitchen.

Anyone seen this in person yet? Very curious.

Yes that's the reason I thought there might be doors there.

We ALMOST purchased the Cedar Creek 38RD.. We really likes the floor plan until we really kept sitting in it... Then the cons all hit us at once...
At least on the CC-
Cannot see TV from kitchen , and no tv in kitchen
Those sliding glass doors look great , once closed , that really makes the trailer feel closed in
No pantry in the kitchen
Very small awning outside , the RD added another separate slide on the curb slide..
Just to name the most obvious .. I hope the RW version is different

It's at Hershey, I was in it yesterday. My comments would pretty much be the same as Ford a Truck Guy. It looked neat at first and then you realized that there was a lot less storage and the interior is chopped up.

My .02 but I don't think it's a winner.

It's on the Redwood RV page of Facebook. Pics aren't all that helpful though.

We saw one at the Factory last month. Looks neat but think we'll stay with our MB.
Vaughan did you notice the totally flat roof, front to back all the same height.

Thanks Ford Truck Guy - I have a better idea now (Below is the Cedar Creek):

Montana had one like that years ago - The only advantage was the person sleeping in the sofa bed could have a little privacy. It never made it with Montana, wonder why its coming back now

Hey Vaughan , while at Hershey can you find out what the 1 structural change was made to the later 2016's?? My sales rep could only tell me that the difference from them to mine was 3 small appearance changes (larger crown molding) and 1 structural change.... I am curious

Could the one structural change be the flat roof line?

Yep the larger crown molding is for the backlighting up there.
The Flat Roof was the reason for the production delays, needed a larger / taller rear cap to accommodate the flat roof.
Also heard the rear cap storage door has been changed again with the new taller rear cap.
We saw the RD at the Rally / Plant Tour, it has 6 Slides, since there are opposing bedroom slides it has 3 slides on each side, this makes the awning very small.
Of course 3 A/Cs are now available on the new Redwoods with zone ducting, (Bedroom is ducted separate from the kitchen / living area)

At the rally all the new units are coming with the waste master sewer system. Like Bob said 3 AC option along with the cord reel. We saw some with Aluminum steps that is also an option. Nothing was said about any cost, but on the LCI web site they do give prices but everything seems pricy. The amber light in the step compartment $18.69? This is a $4.00 light.

I hope this link works, for those of you curious about some of the new features of the new model: 38RD. You can meet JeffM and Christian too! It's a great intro to some of the new features, THANK YOU Lady E! Hopefully today you can get a good shot of the outside with the new, flat roof line! That should REALLY give the RW a majestic look! Can't wait to see it!

That's a real Beauty ! ! It does not appear that there are doors that separate the back living area from the eating area ? Are there doors and I am just not seeing them ?
I wonder how much heavier they actually are , is there a door sticker form C Fox ??

I'm on the fence with this one. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person this weekend as I suspect that neither the photos or the video do it full justic. My first reaction was "pretty." Then I looked at the height of the ceiling and thought, "why?" I have a hard enough time reaching the chain for the fan as is. I also wonder if the storage is the same, or if it has been decreased. One of RW's strong attributes is its storage so I hope they didn't mess with that. I'm definetly intrigued and can't wait to take a look.

I agree with you Tracy. Gotta get in it and "feel" it. Get a shot of the outside appearance of the flat roof line! Dying to see that. LOVED that look on the TRILOGY. Seems like they should have made the rear cabinets TALLER instead of just putting the same cabinets up higher... more storage. ?? Right? Maybe they did and it just doesn't look like it in the video?

So with the higher roofline, does that mean the slide toppers will be raised for a better pitch?
