Order GK- Couple of electrical questions

Ordered our GK tonight so I have a couple of electrical questions,

We will be leaving a motor home with a inverter/converter/charger and a transfer switch that connects the correct source of power to the coach.

In the Redwood:

Is there a power transfer switch?
How is the battery charged?
What happens if the battery dies, on and off of shorepower?
What happens if converter fails?
Ordering residenitial fridge with inverter, does the inverter power the fridge full time or will shorepower power the fridge when connected?

more to questions to follow.

Thanks.....Ian

Is there a power transfer switch? No -automatic switching - supposed to have a battery disconnect, but mine does not really disconnect
How is the battery charged? either from shorepower or genset or tow vehicle
What happens if the battery dies, on and off of shorepower? you're hosed
What happens if converter fails? see previous response ! needs replacement
Ordering residenitial fridge with inverter, does the inverter power the fridge full time or will shorepower power the fridge when connected? with ours we can turn the inverter off, but if plugged in the fridge gets power from the shore...

more to questions to follow. bring em on

Thanks.....Ian[/QUOTE]

hope this helps !

Further to JB2

Battery charge - in addition to the TV and shore power we have added a solar system that keeps them at 100%

Dead battery - you can operate the hydraulic slides and landing gear with a portable drill and allen key to operate the valves manually. The electric slides you can disconnect the motors and push the slides in.
