Has anyone come up with a good way to keep the pantry drawers closed, thus the pantry door closed during travel??

Michelle,
I had the same issue with the laundry room doors on my RL. The solution was to install additional spring latches (the brown ones the factoryalready uses on the doors/drawers). Apparently, they are a common item, as my dealer had lots on the shelf. That fixed the problem and also looks "factory". If I have the pantry door issue, I'm going to try those first. Once the door is secure, probably need to install some of those clear stick-on bumpers to keep inside pantry door from getting beat-up.

I installed those brown spring latches on all the drawers on one side and it hasn't helped as they still hit the door and open it. We put a split section of a swim noodle on the edge of the counter so as not to mark up the door, but since we have all the shelves pretty well loaded they push hard enough against the door to startspringing the door hinges. We're still looking for some sort of positive latch for the shelves.

I know... how about those plastic "baby latches" that they use for cabinets. They'rewhite and open about an inch. Then, you stick a finger in and press down the"tongue" to release the latch.
Also, I have silverware in the top drawer of the island. During last trip, the drawer was pushed open and put a ding in the refrigerator panel. Luckily, Old English saved the day. Beware.

I built a simple device to hold all the pantry drawers in at the same time. It is a 3/4 x3/4 board cut the length of the face frame opening + 1 1/2 " that attaches to the inside of the pantry face frame with Velcro (the kind with the sticky back) to the face frameFelt chair pads attached to the board at each drawer level and a couple on the door side protect drawer fronts and inside of the door. So far the pantry door on our RE stays closed during travel. I store the board in the basement when we are parked. I found the board ( in the molding department) velcro and chair pads at Lowes.

Mike, the problem with the baby latches, you generally need a frame above the drawer to mount half the latch. Brett & Jan, yep have thought of that, keeping that as the last resort, but may be the only positive way of doing it.

If the drawers are empty, maybe, but we have our loaded, so there is a fair amount of weight in them and as you roll down the highway there is a lot of force applied as the rig rocks from side to side not to mention the force applied during a turn. And how about those Thruway/Freeway/Turnpike entrance ramps that are sloped the wrong way!!

Well, we've had our first casualty -- stopped the other day on our way from Maryland to NC and found the pantry door literally hanging by the top hinge. Apparently the drawers hit against the door and finally forced the door open, then pulled the anchors that the hinges screw into on the door out of the door (holes too big???) . In any event, Brian has come to the rescue and suggested we call a dealer further south along our route to replace the door. They're closed until Monday, but seemed to have an issue with ordering a new door in advance so it would bethere when we arrive to make the swap. They're closed until Monday, so we'll see. Hoping for a good outcome as many others seem to have had when Brian intervenes.

We ended up resorting to the old "Hook & Eye" to hold the drawer in. A little bit of a pain, but they do the trick.

My trailer is at the factory now and when i dropped it off they asked if I had been having trouble with the pantry. I haven't had any problems with mine but they are going to put another latch on it anyway as a precaution. I was impressed that they're doing work and improving my trailer because others have had issues.
