I have been 5th wheeling 10+ years, and it baffles me as to why the don't "hard wire" the power cords like they do on class A. There must be an obvious answer.
Thanks.

DITTO, Did anyone read on the THOR FORUM for Redwoods they are changing the warranty? Note: posted page says 2+5 may only be good for 1 yr! Search for NORSKEBOB post. I need this explained, if correct how can they change warranty after purchase?

I just received a email the other day from my dealer saying that my one year warranty is nearing the end! I’ll be on the phone with them ASAP to find out whats up!! I though they told me I had a 2-5 year warranty and its on the side of our coach. It’ll be interesting to see what they are going to say.

I understand your concerns about a 2+5 warranty vs 1 year.
Do ya think you should have started another thread? This thread wasactuallyabout hardwiring the main electrical cord.
Just sayin',

I was suprised yesterday when hooking up my satilite inside the RV, I got hot so I tried the front A/C and it came on, I'm only connected to a 120V/20 amp home circuit. I thought the heat pump was 220v. Good deal.
The TV and A/C was all I had on.

I apologize for that mistake, I was so mad about the warranty, I wanted to reach everyone that has a REDWOOD.
Yes the per cord needs a better fix. DW & I were @ a camp ground that has the pedestal 1/2 way up the slot and the water is at the back, about 6 ft apart so I could not use the entire slot because the pwr cord was @ the back of the Redwood.Sometimes I wonder , my wife can hardly drag the PWR CORD(just kidding). I think the cord needs to be longer, a storage box on the side with the plug as a built in. The power center is where?

When I started this thread, I thought there would be a fast logical answer. I guess I am glad I am not the only one with this question. Thanks all!

I carry a 50 ft power cord that I had included in the deal of the RV. That's why I bought and installed the reel for that 50 ft cord. That long of a power cord gets a bit cumbersome at times.

Buddy,
The AC/HP is 120v. It may work on a 20 amp circuit but its not safe, especially if there is much length on the connecting cord. The AC is rated at ~16 amps on startup so if you have anything else on it will probably blow the breaker.
I wouldn't make a practice of this.
