power cord reel

Hi Everyone,

Just returned to Florida and had a problem with Inverter reading High VAC showing fault, it tripped the breaker in the transfer box. Managed to reset and correct inverter holding 15 secs to reset as troubleshooting recommended, long story short back home and cant get power to RV.
Eagle RV came out he checked the legs on Transfer switch High one side low other, thus High VAC. Went to Pedestal power good, then to Cord Reel, able to remove panel check inside connections all good, but outside is in a separate compartment built into power box.
Question anyone ever remove that box to get to connections in there, as we have to start there and eliminate connections to transfer box from reel forward.
We have power now as they hooked up a power cable straight from Surge protector at

Pedestal to Transfer box.

Advice greatly appreciated as the box is one solid piece and we see at least four screws, but does it slide back enough to come out, without bending skirting on RV, late in day now, so will attack this problem again tomorrow.

There is a piece of plywood between the reel and the outer Alum skirt. Remove the screws from the door and switch, and any other screws you see. The panel might move out far enough to get the box to slide down.

Or have the Mobile RV guy removed the skirt to access the reel. Techs at the RW rally did that to replace reels.

I tore the box up to remove it and then made a new box.

Here is what I found inside our reel.

Thanks Rick, finally got it out, had to pry the fourth screw loose after removing all other exterior screws, as installer had put a screw in the front lip above the plywood that holds the door and switch, only way he could have put it there was if the box was installed before the outside skin was put on. I will mount properly when reinstalling.
Thanks again for quick response.

Glad I could provide some in-sight. I had to break 1 or 2 screws also.

Well the new reel is in, and life is good again, picked up some slow expanding foam so I can seal all cracks at frame. Only casualty was the door, one of the little plastic hinge pins broke off, so I picked up a piano hinge and some stainless steel bolts and screws and will attempt to fix and if unable, will order another from Tiara RV.
Anyone ever had to repair theirs, your knowledge on this repair will be greatly appreciated.

I have had a similar issues , I cut 1/16" off the end with sand paper and put a few small brad nails back in it. its been good ever since. being slightly to long and trailer flex it will keep pulling away from the corner.
