Propane appliance issues

Good morning fellow RW owners. A little info to start with, we're from the Phx, AZ area, and this past weekend, my wife and I went up north camping in the woods in the 5th wheel. We had issues with the fridge not being very cold when we got up to the campsite. We attributed it to the fact that it was pretty hot (108 degrees) when we left home at approximately 4:30pm and got up to the spot at around 7pm, thought maybe the pilot light blew out when traveling. Next morning the fridge was fine, temp outside was in the upper 50's. Saturday we had some issues with the water heater not heating at all when on propane, electric was fine. And we couldn't get the pilot light to work on the oven when my wife was going to make some cinnamon rolls. Also, we used one of the propane tanks to run a gas firepit for warmth saturday night, so that left one of the hoses unattached to a tank, and Sunday morning we noticed the smell of propane outside in our campspot. I'm guessing it was leaking from the loose hose/fitting. Does it sound feasible that my tank switch is not functioning properly to cause some of these issues? Note that when the fridge and oven were giving us problems, both tanks were connected. Any help would be appreciated.

Pigtails?

We had a leak from one of the tanks. I believe what the mobile tech call where the leak was as pigtails. We live in Mesa AZ. We use 4-Point Mobile RV Repair . They are very good.

Thank you Jeannie, I appreciate the info. I went ahead and replaced the tank switch, and it came with new stainless steel braided pigtails, we'll see if that cures it.

Thanks again, Bob

If you have generator prep, check the small regulator on the passenger side tank . I have replaced that thing twice.

My pigtails that go to the tank only lasted 4 years and they got hard and cracked also.
