Propane pigtail question

Due to a leaking pigtail I have decided to replace both the pigtail and the regulator but I am having trouble finding a pigtail with the proper connection for the regulator. I have purchased two pigtails and both male ends are two small for the inlet side of the regulator which is supposed to be 1/4 FNPT. I have looked everywhere so apparently I'm doing something wrong?
If I go with the same regulator as the one in the image, what do I need to do to get the correct adapter or pigtail with the right size connection?

Thanks for your help.

I just went thru this, the old one in your pic is what you need for that regulator it is the same as a BBQ hose. You can get one at most hardware stores. The new hose is what they call an inverted flair,it goes from the tank to you main regulator. Hope this helps

hmm I have met the case like you. A friend advised me to buy another set with a propane pigtail. And I chose the Flame King. They worked fine so far.
