question about batteries

2 years ago I replaced my aging coach batteries with 2 group 31 Lifeline AGM batteries...

I want to Take them out of the coach before the salvage guy comes and takes it away. Anyone have a good, CHEAP battery suggestion that they could give me... Should I put 2 in or just 1 ?? The adjuster told me that if I upgraded anything, I could remove that item, as long as the original was put back.... It came with 2 junk deep cell batts..

Go to your local automotive or battery store & get a couple of the used batteries they're waiting to recycle.

You could also check at golf cart places. They may have some batteries there too. You would probably have to pay a core charge. That's about $12 around here.

Mine came with a single 27 series wet - no brand name. However I did not have the residential fridge.

Generally, the battery (ies) are whatever the dealer happens to throw in there

Good old Wally World has some pretty cheap batteries, or maybe even a Tractor Supply.

Thanks all....

spent my free time this weekend removing the items from the Redwood, all that I have left are the batteries.. This is their 3rd year, so I am struggling with the idea of removing 2 batteries that weigh close to 70 # each to save a few years.. I am weighing the option of just using the factory/dealer supplied batts for 3 years.... same difference??

If you can replace them cheaply, and get the cost of new ones deducted from the price of the new fiver, I would go for it. You can probably get another 4 years out of those AGMs, assuming they haven't been abused.

the AGM I have pulled out of large UPS systems have been in service 7-9 years so I would say if your battery charger was set to a AGM charge rate and they haven't been run flat , keep them!

They come to your dealer with one cheap battery. Put 1 in it and remove the wires that make the parallel hookup,
