Regroove

Well the G14's were getting down so I thought I would give the "regroovable" a try. Well they sure look all right but wouldn't get to try them until Jan as that's when we head down to AZ.
Has anyone else done theirs?

Haven't got that far yet. You much have Mega miles on your RW to have worn the tires that much. We have just shy of 30K on ours and tires still look like new.

I am not so sure I would regroove my RW trailers??

After driving Big rigs for years, and watching those regrooved caps explode, I would not want that on the side of my camper.. I will gladly pay extra for virgin tires...
I also also sure that the technology has changed in the last 20 or so years when I last drove full time

I had 60k+/- on my Gs & on advice of others I did not have them regrooved, but upgraded to Hs from Titan Guy instead & sold my Gs to a fellow with a much lighter trailer so he also got an upgrade. From tire dealers to truck drivers, all said that they would not recommend the regroove, I took the majorities advice.

I'd hate to defame our trucking community (or generalize), but the truckers who regroove their tires are truckers operating on a "budget". Have you ever seen those trucks? They'll only travel back roads. Just sayin'.

I have about 50,000 on these tires and two were worn down quite a bit. I was looking at upgrading to 8K axles next year and wanted to get another year out of these tires and replace all of them at the same time as the axle. There is a big difference between regroovable and retreadable. Not a fan of retreadable seen too many big trucks explode
