Rubber roof pulling away from front cap..

IMG_4815.jpg2013 Redwood 38RE ... has anyone had this happen... rubber roof pulling away from front cap of fifth wheel ...

Just had mine pull out, you will need to remove all the old caulking, unscrew the cap tuck the roof membrane back under the cap, rescrew and caulk the cap. All the screws on mine were broken off. Good Luck

must have been a contagious thing with the 2013's Our gk did it too... but it happened quickly !

Mine is a 12 36rl with 31k on it so I dont feel too bad. There are new sob out there with the same problem.

You caught it early! That is good. They can billow up on the highway and it stretches them and ruins them.

Could be wrong but it looks as if the membrane actually shrunk causing it to pull away??

This is why I laugh at the 10 year warranty that comes on the roofs. Just a sales pitch! No matter what happens on the roof, when there are problems, the finger is pointed back at the owner.

On this forum we've had people experience screws poking up through the rubber, roofs coming loose, roof decking coming loose and I believe even roof decking missing. I believe the roofs and the suspensions are the weakest parts of the RVs.
