We totally agree. We have never used the key pad, just changed batteries because of the low batt alarm. Keys have worked well and we did and have always ordered extras for emergency use.

Sounds like some of you are discussing Bauer handle issues. However, if any one is experiencing issues with your RVLock brand keypad or handle, please contact us. We are more than happy to help you in any way that we can.

We are also now offering our RVLock v4.0 that has the keypad built right into the handle. Much better design and function.

OK - here is what you do - make a backplate for your 4.0 that covers the unpainted portion of the door when the Bauer or other brand locks are removed, and you just greatly expanded your retrofit market

Cade called me again after stumbling across my phone number to ask how things were going with the lock. I could only wish other RV suppliers took this much interest in their product. They have now developed a better system and he said he'd offer some sort of discount for those wanting to upgrade their old locks.

If anybody has problems with their locks, I would recommend calling the RV lock company directly. They are now developing some new products for the cargo doors too.

Thanks, Dave. Please let us know if you need anything else...

We just purchased our 2015 RW a few weeks ago and when we went to the dealership for the PDI the tech told us that they would have to order us a new Bauer keyless door lock because he could not get ours to work. Well they called and said that the new lock was in but I am not sure if I want to tow my RW 80 miles one way just to have the lock replaced. It sounds to me like most of us are in the same boat with our keyless door locks. Most don't work or they work occasionally. Thanks for everyone's input.

Just see if they will ship it to you. Piece of cake to replace, and I really enjoy ours. I have it on both trucks and the door to the house and now the door to the RW.

Thanks AA great advice. I just got off the phone with the dealership and they have agreed to ship the lock to me. Sometimes you are so focused in one direction the obvious is not very obvious.

I already have a LCI ref#, so as Brad stated if it covers the unpainted portion on my door, get it in the mail. My key pad works to wet, now the gobs don't work now either.

Honestly, this is about the only thing holding me back from just buying the RV Lock and swapping over. I like that its an all metal housing. It just seems more secure. I find it odd that RW went from RV Lock to the Bauer, I assume that was only to save a few $$ as I feel like the Bauer is an inferior product...

Lets keep nudging RV lock to make a backing plate

I know it was just a salesman talking, but ours told me at the PDI we were lucky to have the Bauer, so there must have been "some" issues with the RV lock before, .....or maybe he is just a salesman with his lips moving

I have honestly liked our RV lock system with the fobs. I have considered moving up to the all in one lock they offer. They hav treated us well and always responded to emails.

I emailed Bauer the other night and they responded the next morning.
They are shipping us two new locks (we have a RW 38FL with two entry doors)
They also offered to key both locks alike which will be nice to only need one key for both doors.
Guess I will see if the new locks work better than the current ones.
Will update the forum once we get them next week.

Redwood told me to call Bauer on mine. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. It would be nice to have them both keyed the same.

Wow, I emailed Bauer Thursday night on their Website / Contact address, got response before 8:00 Friday morning, got UPS Tracking number Friday afternoon. UPS shows delivery on Wednesday.
That is great customer service, sure hope these locks work better than our current ones.

I've talked with a couple of people here at the Redwood Rally with the newly designed lock by RVlock and from I hear this is a great little lock. I'm going to install one on my coach and give it a try. As long as it's reliable I'll be a happy camper.

I had a few people ask me about the RV Lock company while at the rally. I'm sorry but I talked to so many people....I can't remember who it was. Whoever it was...they were having problems with their locks from Bauer. Cade from the RV Lock company said that he'd workout a special deal for anyone wanting the NEW lock system that he has developed. The new lock set seems MUCH better than the original setup that came with my trailer.

we are going in for our first warranty service on September 10th. Unfortunately our RV door lock is on the list. It didn't last long. Bauer.
